Setup

The Rug Doctor 95349 Wide Track Carpet Cleaner comes fully assembled. Follow these steps to prepare it for use:

1. Fill the Solution Tank:
   • Ensure the machine is unplugged.
   • Locate the solution tank (lower tank).
   • Fill the solution tank with hot tap water (do not use boiling water).
   • Add the recommended amount of Rug Doctor cleaning solution to the smaller detergent reservoir, located behind the clear water tank. Refer to the cleaning solution's instructions for exact measurements.
2. Secure the Recovery Tank:
   • Ensure the recovery tank (upper tank) is empty and properly seated on the machine.
   • Close and secure the retainer that holds the air/water separator and recovery tank in place. This may require firm pressure.
3. Connect Power:
   • Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
4. Prepare Area:
   • Vacuum the area to be cleaned thoroughly to remove loose dirt and debris.
   • Pre-treat heavily soiled areas or stubborn stains with a suitable Rug Doctor pre-treatment product, following its instructions.

Operation

Cleaning Carpets:

1. Turn On: Press the power switch to turn on the machine.
2. Engage Cleaning: Press the handle-mounted button to activate the vibrating brush and spray cleaning solution.
3. Clean in Strips: Pull the machine backward slowly over the carpet, overlapping each pass slightly. The machine is designed to clean effectively on the backward stroke. Do not push the machine forward while spraying.
4. Extract Water: Release the spray button and make additional passes over the wet area to extract as much water as possible. This helps reduce drying time.

7. Drying: Allow carpets to dry completely before walking on them or replacing furniture. This may take several hours depending on humidity and airflow.

Using the Upholstery Kit:

1. Attach Hose: Turn off and unplug the machine. Connect the 12-foot hose to the designated port on the machine.
2. Attach Hand Tool: Attach the Universal Hand Tool to the end of the hose.
3. Switch Selector: Move the selector switch on the machine to the "Accessories" or "Hand Tool" position (if applicable).
4. Clean Upholstery: Spray cleaning solution by pressing the trigger on the hand tool and gently scrub the fabric. Pull the hand tool over the surface to extract dirty water.
5. Test First: Always test the cleaning solution and hand tool on an inconspicuous area of upholstery first to ensure colorfastness and prevent damage.
