4.1 Camera Controls

4.2 Taking Photos

Turn the mode dial to your desired shooting mode. For general use, select Auto mode. The camera offers 20 scene modes (e.g., portrait, children, snow, beach, backlight) and 3 color modes to optimize settings for different situations. Digital image stabilization helps reduce blur, and face detection technology automatically adjusts for clear portraits. For low-light conditions, utilize the High ISO setting (up to 1600). The on-camera panorama stitch mode allows combining up to three shots into one large picture. Basic editing features like cropping, blurry picture alert, and digital red-eye reduction are available directly on the camera. You can also use the voice tagging feature to record names, dates, and events with your pictures.

4.3 Recording Videos

Switch the mode dial to Video mode. The camera records continuous VGA video (640 x 480) at 15 frames per second with sound. On-camera editing features are available. Videos are saved using MPEG-4 compression, which allows for more video to be stored using less memory.

4.4 Viewing Photos and Videos

Use the 2.7-inch LCD display to review your captured media. The auto picture rotation feature ensures photos are viewed correctly regardless of how they were taken. You can also create and view multimedia slide shows directly on the camera.

4.5 Transferring Files

Connect the camera to your computer using a USB cable. The camera will appear as a removable drive, allowing you to copy photos and videos. Alternatively, use the included Kodak EasyShare Software for a streamlined way to find, create, and share your pictures. The software also provides access to the Kodak EasyShare Gallery for viewing, editing, and saving.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Gently wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For the lens and LCD screen, use a lens cleaning cloth specifically designed for optics. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2 Battery Care

Charge the Li-Ion battery fully before first use. For optimal battery life, avoid extreme temperatures. If storing the camera for an extended period, remove the battery.

5.3 Storage

Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity. Use a camera case to protect it from dust and scratches.
