Setup and Installation

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Ensure you have the filter housing, D-15 filter cartridge, and hose connection kit.
  2. Prepare Filter Cartridge: The D-15 filter cartridge may be wrapped in plastic. Remove any protective wrapping from the filter cartridge before installation.
  3. Insert Filter Cartridge: Place the D-15 filter cartridge inside the filter housing. Ensure it is seated correctly.
  4. Secure Housing: Screw the top of the filter housing securely onto the bottom portion. A filter wrench (often included or sold separately) can be used to ensure a tight seal.
  5. Connect Hoses: Use the provided hose connection kit to attach the filter system in-line with your RV's water supply hose. The system is designed for easy connection to standard garden hoses.
  6. Positioning: The system can be placed on the ground next to your RV. Consider placing it in a shaded area to help keep the water cooler, especially in warm climates.

Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Culligan RVF-10 system operates automatically as water flows through it. It effectively reduces sediment, chlorine taste, and odor, providing cleaner and better-tasting water for all your RV needs, including drinking, cooking, and showering. The system is designed to handle typical RV water pressures and flow rates.

To begin using, slowly turn on the water supply to allow the filter to fill and purge air. Check for any leaks at the connections. Once water flows steadily from your RV's faucets, the system is ready for use.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and water quality.

  • Filter Replacement: The D-15 filter cartridge has a life of up to 3 months or 250 gallons, whichever comes first. This duration can vary depending on water quality and usage. Replace the filter when you notice a decrease in water flow, a return of unpleasant tastes or odors, or after the recommended period.
  • Replacing the Filter:
    1. Turn off the water supply to the filter system.
    2. Relieve pressure by pressing the red pressure release button on top of the housing (if present).
    3. Unscrew the filter housing using a filter wrench.
    4. Remove the old filter cartridge and dispose of it properly.
    5. Clean the inside of the filter housing with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly.
    6. Insert a new D-15 filter cartridge, ensuring any protective wrapping is removed.
    7. Screw the housing back onto the top portion, tightening securely.
    8. Slowly turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
  • Sanitization: The filter housing can be used to introduce sanitizing solutions (like bleach) into your RV's fresh water tank. The large capacity allows for sufficient solution. Always follow your RV manufacturer's guidelines for tank sanitization.
