Installation

The Fishman Neo-D Humbucking pickup is designed for quick and easy installation into the soundhole of most acoustic guitars. No permanent modifications to your instrument are required.

  1. Carefully position the pickup within the soundhole of your acoustic guitar. The pickup features foam-padded clamps that will secure it in place.
  2. Ensure the pickup is centered and securely seated, with the foam padding making firm contact with the soundhole edges. The two small screws on the pickup body allow for minor adjustments to the clamping pressure, if necessary.
  3. Route the integrated cable out of the soundhole. It is often routed along the guitar's body and secured with a strap or cable clip (not included) to prevent interference during play.
  4. Connect the 1/4-inch jack at the end of the cable to your acoustic amplifier, mixer, or audio interface.

Operating the Pickup

Maintenance

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No Sound Output Cable not fully inserted; Amplifier/mixer off or muted; Faulty cable. Ensure cable is fully inserted into both pickup and amplifier; Turn on amplifier/mixer and check volume; Try a different instrument cable.
Weak or Distorted Sound Improper pickup placement; Amplifier settings incorrect; Damaged pickup. Adjust pickup position in soundhole for optimal contact; Check amplifier gain and tone settings; Contact support if distortion persists.
Excessive Feedback High volume levels; Proximity to amplifier; Resonant frequencies. Reduce amplifier volume; Increase distance from amplifier; Consider using a soundhole feedback buster (not included).
Humming Noise Electrical interference; Ground loop. Ensure proper grounding of all equipment; Try plugging into a different power outlet; The humbucking design minimizes hum, but extreme electrical interference can still cause issues.
