2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, explosion, or carbon monoxide poisoning, which could cause property damage, personal injury, or death.

  • Outdoor Use Only: This appliance is designed for outdoor use only. Do not operate indoors or in enclosed spaces.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation when operating the stove.
  • Flammable Materials: Keep the stove clear of flammable materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids.
  • Stable Surface: Always operate the stove on a firm, level, non-combustible surface.
  • Gas Cartridge: Use only Campingaz CP 250 gas cartridges. Do not use other types of gas cartridges.
  • Leak Check: Before each use, check for gas leaks. Never use a flame to check for leaks. Use soapy water.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the stove during operation and while it is cooling down.
  • Hot Surfaces: The stove and its components will become very hot during use. Allow to cool completely before handling or storing.
  • Storage: Store the stove and gas cartridges in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

3. Setup and Gas Cartridge Installation

Follow these steps carefully to set up your Campingaz Bistro 2 stove and install the gas cartridge.

3.1 Unpacking

  1. Remove the stove from its carrying case.
  2. Place the stove on a stable, level, non-combustible surface.

3.2 Gas Cartridge Installation

Ensure the control knob is in the 'OFF' position before installing the gas cartridge.

  1. Open the Can Cover: Locate the gas cartridge compartment on the side of the stove and open its cover.
  2. Match the Cartridge: Align the notch on the Campingaz CP 250 gas cartridge with the corresponding tab inside the compartment.
  3. Insert and Lock: Gently push the cartridge into the compartment, then push down the locking lever to secure it in place. Ensure the cartridge is firmly seated and the lever is fully engaged.

IMPORTANT: The safety locking system ensures correct cartridge insertion. Do not force the cartridge if it does not fit easily.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Lighting the Stove

  1. Ensure the gas cartridge is correctly installed and locked.
  2. Turn the control knob slowly counter-clockwise towards the 'MAX' position. You should hear a hiss of gas.
  3. Press the piezo ignition button firmly. The burner should ignite. If it does not ignite on the first attempt, repeat steps 2 and 3.
  4. If the burner does not ignite after several attempts, turn the control knob to 'OFF', wait a few minutes, and check the gas cartridge connection before trying again.

4.2 Adjusting the Flame

Once lit, you can adjust the flame intensity by rotating the control knob between 'MIN' and 'MAX' settings to achieve the desired heat for cooking.

4.3 Turning Off the Stove

To turn off the stove, rotate the control knob clockwise until it reaches the 'OFF' position. The flame will extinguish. Allow the stove to cool completely before handling or storing.

5. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your stove.

5.1 Cleaning

  • Always ensure the stove is completely cool and the gas cartridge is removed before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • The enamelled pan support can be removed for easier cleaning. Wash with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  • Do not immerse the stove in water.

5.2 Storage

  • Ensure the stove is clean and dry before storing.
  • Remove the gas cartridge from the stove before placing it back into the carrying case.
  • Store the stove in its original carrying case in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

6. Troubleshooting
