Setup and Assembly

The Luminous ST5525 shelf is designed for simple assembly without the need for specialized tools. This shelf is intended for use with 19mm diameter poles (sold separately).

  1. Prepare Components: Unpack all components and verify against the package contents list. Ensure you have the necessary poles for your shelf unit.
  2. Attach Sleeves: Locate the desired height for your shelf on the pole. Snap the two halves of a sleeve together around the pole at this position. Ensure the arrow on the sleeve points upwards. Repeat for all four poles at the same height.
  3. Position Shelf: Carefully slide the shelf down over the poles, aligning the corner holes with the sleeves. The shelf should rest securely on the sleeves.
  4. Secure Shelf: Gently tap the shelf down onto the sleeves using a rubber mallet or your hands until it is firmly seated. Ensure all four corners are level and secure.
  5. Final Check: Once assembled, gently shake the unit to ensure stability. If unstable, recheck sleeve placement and shelf seating.

Operating Instructions

Once assembled, your Luminous steel shelf is ready for use. Follow these guidelines for optimal performance:

  • Load Distribution: Distribute items evenly across the shelf surface to prevent stress on specific points and maintain stability.
  • Weight Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 330.7 lbs (150 kg) per shelf. Overloading can cause the shelf to deform or collapse.
  • Placement: Place heavier items on lower shelves to improve overall stability of the unit.
  • Stability Check: Periodically check the stability of the shelf unit, especially after moving it or rearranging items.

Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your Luminous steel shelf:

  • Cleaning: Wipe with a dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and immediately dry the surface to prevent water spots or rust.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the chrome plating and clear coating.
  • Rust Prevention: While the shelf has a clear coating for rust resistance, avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or high humidity environments to maintain its finish.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the shelf and sleeves for any signs of wear, damage, or looseness. Tighten any loose connections if necessary.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Luminous steel shelf, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Shelf is Unstable/Wobbly:
    • Ensure all sleeves are correctly positioned at the same height on each pole.
    • Verify that the shelf is fully seated onto all four sleeves. Gently tap down with a rubber mallet if needed.
    • Check that the floor surface is level. Adjust the leveling feet on the poles (if applicable) or place shims under the base.
  • Shelf is Not Level:
    • Re-check sleeve placement. Even a slight difference in sleeve height can cause the shelf to be uneven.
    • Ensure the shelf is not bent or damaged.
  • Difficulty Attaching Sleeves:
    • Ensure the two halves of the sleeve snap together completely around the pole.
    • The sleeves are designed for a snug fit on 19mm poles. Do not force them if they do not fit; ensure you have the correct pole diameter.
