Setup

Setting the Time and Date

  1. Unscrew the Crown: Locate the crown on the right side of the watch case. Gently unscrew it counter-clockwise until it is free from the case.
  2. Set the Date: Pull the crown out to the first click position. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the movement) to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the date change mechanism.
  3. Set the Time: Pull the crown out to the second click position. Turn the crown to move the hands and set the correct time. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly observed for the date change.
  4. Secure the Crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into the first click position, then gently screw it clockwise back into the case until it is finger-tight. This ensures water resistance.

Operating the Watch

Unidirectional Rotating Bezel

The Luminox Original Navy SEAL 3051.F features a unidirectional rotating bezel, primarily used for timing dive durations or other elapsed time measurements.

  1. Align the Bezel: Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise until the zero marker (triangle) aligns with the minute hand.
  2. Measure Elapsed Time: The minute hand will then indicate the elapsed time on the bezel scale. The bezel only rotates counter-clockwise to prevent accidental increases in measured time, which is crucial for dive safety.

Luminox Light Technology (LLT)

Your Luminox watch is equipped with a self-powered illumination system that provides constant glow for up to 25 years, without requiring external light exposure or battery power. This technology ensures visibility in all light conditions.

Water Resistance

The watch is water-resistant to 200 meters (660 feet / 20 ATM). This rating makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports. It is not recommended for scuba diving unless specifically stated for the model. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before any water exposure.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your watch, clean it regularly with a soft, damp cloth. For watches exposed to saltwater, rinse thoroughly with fresh water after each exposure and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a Swiss Quartz movement requiring a LR44 battery. Battery replacement should be performed by an authorized Luminox service center to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance. Attempting to replace the battery yourself may void the warranty and compromise the watch's water resistance.

Periodic Checks

It is recommended to have your watch inspected periodically by an authorized service center, especially if it is frequently exposed to water, to ensure the integrity of its seals and water resistance.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If the watch still does not run, the battery may need replacement.
  • Date Not Changing: Ensure the time is set correctly, observing AM/PM. If the date is set between 9 PM and 3 AM, it might not change properly. Adjust the time past 3 AM and then reset the date.
  • Water Inside the Watch: If you notice condensation or water inside the watch, immediately take it to an authorized service center. Do not attempt to dry it yourself.
