Operating Instructions

The Braun BC 1400 Swing Hairdryer features two combined heat and fan settings, plus a cold shot function for versatile styling.

  1. Power On/Off: Plug the hairdryer into a power outlet. Use the main switch (typically located on the handle) to turn the appliance on or off.
  2. Adjusting Heat and Fan Settings: The hairdryer offers 2 combined heat and fan settings. Slide the switch on the handle to select your desired intensity.
    • Setting 1: Lower heat and fan speed for gentle drying or styling.

  3. Cold Shot Function: Press and hold the dedicated cold shot button (usually a separate button, often green) to instantly switch to cool air. Release the button to return to the previous heat setting. This helps to set your hairstyle and add shine.
  4. Using Attachments:
    • Extra Slim Professional Nozzle (Concentrator): Use this attachment to direct airflow precisely for targeted drying and styling, ideal for straightening or smoothing hair.
    • Powerflower Attachment (Diffuser): This attachment is designed to distribute air gently and evenly, enhancing natural curls and waves while reducing frizz. Hold the diffuser close to your scalp and move it in circular motions.
  5. After Use: Turn off the hairdryer using the main switch and unplug it from the power outlet. Allow the appliance to cool down before storing.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your hairdryer.

  1. Cleaning the Air Filter:
    • Ensure the hairdryer is unplugged and completely cool.
    • Locate the removable air filter cover at the back of the hairdryer.
    • Gently twist or pull off the filter cover.
    • Remove any accumulated dust, lint, or hair from the filter using a soft brush or by rinsing it under running water (if detachable and specified as washable). Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
    • Reattach the filter cover securely.

Note: A clogged filter can lead to overheating and reduced performance. Clean regularly.

  2. Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the hairdryer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  3. Storage: Store the hairdryer in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Do not wrap the power cord tightly around the appliance, as this can damage the cord. Use the hanging loop for convenient storage.
