4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Scanner

Regular cleaning helps maintain scan quality. Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a mild glass cleaner to wipe the scanner glass. Avoid abrasive cleaners or direct spraying onto the scanner.

4.2 Cleaning Film Holders

If you frequently scan film, periodically clean the film holders with a soft cloth to remove dust or smudges that could affect scan quality.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Scanner Not Responding

  • Ensure the power cable and USB cable are securely connected.
  • Verify the scanner is powered on and the status light is green.
  • Restart your computer and the scanner.
  • Check the Epson support website for the latest drivers and software updates.

5.2 Poor Scan Quality

  • Clean the scanner glass and film holders as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Adjust scanning settings in the Epson Scan software, such as resolution, color correction, and dust removal.
  • Ensure the document or film is placed correctly on the scanner glass or in the film holder.
