4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your heater for first use.
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for storage or transport.
- Caster Installation: Attach the casters to the base of the heater as per the included instructions (if not pre-installed). Ensure they are securely fastened for mobility.
- Placement: Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is adequate clear space around the heater (at least 50 cm from walls, furniture, and curtains) to allow for proper heat circulation and prevent fire hazards. The heater is suitable for rooms between 4 to 10 tatami mats (approximately 6.5 to 16.2 square meters).

Figure 5: Example of heater placement in a room, demonstrating appropriate distance from furniture. - Power Connection: Plug the heater's power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet voltage matches the heater's rating (100V, 50/60Hz). Do not use extension cords or power strips.
5. Operation
Operating your TESY oil radiator heater involves setting the power level, desired temperature, and optionally, the timer.
- Power ON/OFF: Turn the main power switch to the 'ON' position. The heater will begin to warm up.
- Power Level Selection: Use the power selector switch to choose one of the three heating levels: 650W, 800W, or 1450W. Higher wattage provides faster and more intense heating.
- Temperature Adjustment (Thermostat): Rotate the thermostat dial to set your desired room temperature. The heater will automatically cycle ON and OFF to maintain this temperature, optimizing energy consumption.
- 24-Hour ON/OFF Timer Programming:
- The timer dial is divided into 24 hours, with each hour marked and further subdivided into 15-minute segments.
- To set an 'ON' period, push the small pins corresponding to the desired time segments outwards.
- To set an 'OFF' period, leave the pins corresponding to the desired time segments inwards.
- Rotate the entire timer dial clockwise until the current time aligns with the arrow indicator.
- Ensure the main power switch and thermostat are set to the desired heating level and temperature for the timer to function correctly.
- Initial Use: During the first few hours of operation, a slight odor may be noticeable. This is normal and will dissipate quickly. Ensure adequate ventilation during this period.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, clean the heater and store it in a dry, dust-free location. A storage cover is included to protect the unit.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the heater yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel for any repairs.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
- Heater does not turn ON:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
- Ensure the main power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Verify the thermostat is set to a temperature higher than the current room temperature.
- Check if the tip-over switch or overheat protection has been activated. If so, ensure the heater is upright and has cooled down, then reset by unplugging and replugging.
- Heater is not heating sufficiently:
- Increase the power level setting.
- Adjust the thermostat to a higher temperature.
- Ensure the room size is within the recommended 4-10 tatami mats.
- Check for drafts or open windows that may be affecting room temperature.
- Timer is not working:
- Ensure the current time is correctly set on the timer dial.
- Verify that the pins for the desired 'ON' periods are pushed outwards.
- Confirm the main power switch and thermostat are set for operation during the timed periods.
If the problem persists after checking these points, please contact customer support.
