5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the alarm clock.
  2. Carefully slide or lift the cover to open the compartment. Note: The battery compartment may be stiff to open initially.
  3. Insert the included AA battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Initial Time Setting (Radio-Controlled)

After battery installation, the clock will automatically attempt to receive the radio time signal. This process may take several minutes. Place the clock near a window for better reception. Once the signal is received, the clock will set itself to the correct time.

5.3 Manual Time Setting (If Radio Signal is Unavailable)

If the radio signal cannot be received or if you prefer to set the time manually:

  1. Locate the time setting knob on the back of the clock.
  2. Rotate the knob to adjust the hour and minute hands to the desired time.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Setting the Alarm

  1. Locate the alarm setting knob on the back of the clock.
  2. Rotate the alarm setting knob to move the alarm hand to your desired wake-up time. The alarm setting features distinct clicks for precise adjustment, typically in 10-minute increments.
  3. To activate the alarm, locate the alarm ON/OFF switch (usually a small slider or button) on the back or side of the clock and set it to the 'ON' position. When the alarm is active, the second hand will stop moving, and the clock will operate silently.

6.2 Using the Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds:

  • Press the snooze/light button, typically located on the top or back of the clock. This will temporarily silence the alarm.
  • The alarm will sound again after approximately 5-6 minutes. This cycle can be repeated for up to 45 minutes.

6.3 Dial Illumination

To illuminate the clock dial in low light conditions:

  • Press the light button, usually combined with the snooze button, located on the top or back of the clock. The dial will light up for a few seconds.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the alarm clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the casing or dial.

7.2 Battery Replacement

When the clock's display dims, the alarm weakens, or the clock stops functioning, it is time to replace the battery. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1. Ensure you use a fresh AA battery.

  • Clock not displaying correct time: Ensure the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient power. If it's a radio-controlled clock, ensure it's in a location with good signal reception. Try manual time setting if the radio signal is consistently poor.
  • Alarm not sounding: Check that the alarm is activated (ON position) and that the alarm time is correctly set. Ensure the battery has sufficient power.
  • Poor radio signal reception: Move the alarm clock to a different location, preferably near a window and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Allow sufficient time for the clock to synchronize.
  • Difficulty opening battery compartment: Apply gentle, even pressure when sliding or lifting the cover. Avoid using excessive force to prevent damage.
