Operating Instructions

The Leviton 5300-PSC features indicator lights to provide real-time status of its operation:

  • Power Indicator: This light illuminates when the surge protector is receiving power and the main switch is in the "ON" position.
  • Protection Indicator: This light indicates that the surge protection circuitry is active and functioning correctly. If this light is off, the surge protection has been compromised, and the unit should be replaced.
  • Polarity & Ground Indicator: This light confirms that the wall outlet is properly wired with correct polarity and ground. If this light is off or indicates an error, consult a qualified electrician to inspect your wiring.

To power on or off connected devices, use the main power switch located on the surge protector. This switch controls power to all six outlets.

Maintenance

The Leviton 5300-PSC surge protector requires minimal maintenance. Regularly check the indicator lights to ensure proper operation. If the "Protection" indicator light is off, the surge protection has been used up, and the unit will no longer protect against surges. In this case, replace the surge protector immediately to ensure continued protection for your valuable electronics. Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth; do not use liquid cleaners.
