5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for optimal sharpening results:
General Sharpening Tips:
- Always pull the knife through the slots; never push.
- Apply light, even pressure. Excessive pressure can damage the blade or the sharpener.
- Alternate between the left and right slots of each stage to ensure even sharpening on both sides of the blade.
- Clean knives thoroughly after sharpening to remove any metal particles.
Sharpening Process (3 Stages):
Turn the power switch to the 'ON' position before beginning.
- Stage 1: Coarse Grinding (Sapphirite Coarse-Grinding Wheel)
This stage is for very dull or damaged blades. Insert the knife into the left slot of Stage 1, pulling it towards you from heel to tip. Repeat in the right slot. Perform 3-4 pulls per side, alternating slots. - Stage 2: Medium Grinding (Sapphirite Medium-Grinding Wheel)
This stage continues the sharpening process, refining the edge. Insert the knife into the left slot of Stage 2, pulling it towards you from heel to tip. Repeat in the right slot. Perform 3-4 pulls per side, alternating slots. - Stage 3: Fine Honing (Ceramic Fine-Honing Wheel)
This final stage polishes the blade to a razor-sharp edge. Insert the knife into the left slot of Stage 3, pulling it towards you from heel to tip. Repeat in the right slot. Perform 3-4 pulls per side, alternating slots.

6. Maintenance and Care
- Always unplug the sharpener before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the sharpener with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Do not immerse the sharpener in water or any other liquid.
- The sharpening wheels are designed for long-lasting performance and generally do not require replacement under normal household use.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your sharpener, consider the following:
- Sharpener does not turn on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Knives are not sharpening effectively: Verify that the correct blade thickness setting is selected for your knife. Ensure you are pulling the knife through the slots with light, even pressure and alternating sides. For very dull knives, more passes through Stage 1 may be necessary.
- Excessive noise during operation: Some noise is normal for electric sharpeners. If the noise is unusually loud or accompanied by grinding sounds, ensure no foreign objects are lodged in the sharpening slots.
