Setup

  1. Power Connection: Connect the provided power supply to the VRDMC5 and then to a power outlet. Ensure the device powers on correctly. If the device does not power on immediately, press and hold the power button for a few seconds, or try pressing it twice.
  2. Connecting Video Sources:
    • For camcorders or VCRs with RCA outputs (yellow for video, white/red for audio), use the supplied RCA cables. Connect the cables from your source device's output to the corresponding input ports on the VRDMC5.
    • For Sony HDD/Memory Stick Handycam camcorders, connect via USB for high-speed AVCHD video transfer.
  3. Media Preparation:
    • DVDs: Insert a blank DVD-R or DVD+R disc into the DVD tray.
    • USB/SD Cards: For recording to USB thumb drives or SD cards, ensure they are formatted to FAT32 (PC FAT32) and have a Master Boot Record (MBR) partition style for proper recognition by the device.

Operating Instructions

Recording Video to DVD

  1. Connect your video source (camcorder, VCR) to the VRDMC5 using the appropriate cables (RCA or USB).
  2. Insert a blank recordable DVD (DVD-R or DVD+R) into the device's tray.
  3. Use the 2.5-inch LCD screen to navigate the menu and select the video input source.
  4. Preview the video on the LCD screen to ensure the connection is correct and the content is ready for recording.
  5. Initiate recording on the VRDMC5. The device will record the video directly to the DVD.
  6. Once recording is complete, finalize the DVD through the menu options to ensure compatibility with other DVD players.

Recording Video/Photos to USB Drive or SD Card

  1. Connect your video source or insert a memory card with digital photos.
  2. Insert a FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive or SD card into the respective slot.
  3. Navigate the menu to select the desired input (video source or memory card) and the output destination (USB or SD card).
  4. For photos, you can choose to create a playable slideshow on DVD or simply store the images.
  5. Start the recording or transfer process.

Playback

  1. To play back recorded content, navigate to the "Media Player" option on the LCD screen.
  2. Select the source for playback: USB, SD Card, or CD/DVD.
  3. Choose the desired file or disc to begin playback.
  4. The VRDMC5 also features an HDMI output port, allowing you to connect the device to a television for viewing content on a larger screen.
