Safety Information

Setup
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the D3200 from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. Confirm all accessories are present.
2. Connecting Power
Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear panel of the D3200. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into a suitable power outlet. Ensure the unit's power switch is in the OFF position before connecting power.
3. Audio Input and Output Connections
The D3200 offers a versatile input section to accommodate various recording situations. Connect your microphones, instruments, and other audio sources to the appropriate input jacks on the rear panel. Use balanced XLR cables for microphones and 1/4-inch TRS or TS cables for line-level instruments.
Connect your studio monitors or headphones to the MONITOR OUT or PHONES jacks for audio monitoring.

For digital audio connections, utilize the S/P DIF IN/OUT ports. The USB 2.0 port allows for data transfer with a computer.
Operating the D3200
1. Powering On and Initial Setup
After all connections are made, press the power switch to turn on the D3200. The display will illuminate, and the system will initialize. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup, such as setting the date and time.
2. Basic Recording Workflow
The D3200 allows for up to 12 tracks of simultaneous recording. To begin recording:
- Select Tracks: Use the track select buttons to arm the desired tracks for recording.
- Input Level Adjustment: Adjust the input gain for each channel using the dedicated knobs to achieve optimal recording levels without clipping.
- Monitoring: Ensure your monitoring levels are set appropriately through headphones or studio monitors.
- Start Recording: Press the REC button, then the PLAY button to start recording. Press STOP to end recording.

3. Mixer Functions and Effects
The D3200 features a powerful 40-input channel mixer. Utilize the faders, pan controls, and EQ sections to shape your sound. High-quality effects, employing Korg's renowned REMS modeling technology, can be applied to individual tracks or the master output. Navigate the effects menus via the display and dedicated buttons to select and customize presets.
4. Interactive Session Drums
The Interactive Session Drums feature simplifies the creation of realistic drum tracks. Access this function through the dedicated controls or menu options. You can select various drum patterns, adjust tempo, and customize drum sounds to fit your musical ideas.
5. Internal CD-RW Drive
The integrated CD-RW drive allows you to burn your finished projects directly to CD. After mixing and mastering your tracks, follow the on-screen instructions to create an audio CD or backup your project data.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the D3200 in a dry, dust-free environment.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Korg website for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
Troubleshooting
No Power
- Ensure the AC adapter is securely connected to both the D3200 and a working power outlet.
- Verify the power switch is in the ON position.
- Test the power outlet with another device.
No Sound Output
- Check all audio cable connections to your monitors or headphones.
- Ensure master volume and individual track faders are raised.
- Verify that the correct input sources are selected and armed for monitoring.
