Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the monitor.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert four (4) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Cuff Connection
Connect the air tube from the cuff to the air jack on the side of the monitor unit.
Operating Instructions
1. Preparing for Measurement
- Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
- Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
- Avoid talking or moving during the measurement.
- Ensure the cuff is applied directly to your bare skin, not over clothing.
2. Applying the Arm Cuff
- Slide your arm through the cuff loop. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm.
- Position the cuff so the bottom edge is approximately 1-2 cm above your elbow joint.
- Wrap the cuff snugly around your upper arm, ensuring it is not too tight or too loose. The index line on the cuff should align with the range indicator.

3. Taking a Measurement
- Press the Power/Start button (usually the central blue button). The cuff will automatically inflate.
- Remain still and quiet during inflation and deflation.
- Once the measurement is complete, your Systolic (SYS), Diastolic (DIA), and Pulse (PUL) readings will be displayed on the screen.

4. Understanding Your Readings (WHO Risk Indicator)
The monitor includes a WHO (World Health Organization) Risk Indicator, which instantly compares your readings with standard classifications for hypertension. The color bar on the left side of the display indicates your blood pressure category:
- Red: Severe Hypertension
- Orange: Moderate Hypertension
- Yellow: Mild Hypertension
- Light Green: High-Normal
- Green: Normal
- Dark Green: Optimal

5. Memory Function
The Lumiscope 1133 features a 2-person memory with 60 readings each, totaling 120 readings. It also averages the last 3 readings and includes an automatic time and date stamp for each measurement.
- Press the M1 or M2 button to access the memory for User 1 or User 2, respectively.
- Use the same buttons to scroll through past readings.
6. Auto Shut Off
The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

- Wipe the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth.
- If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
Storage
