3. Operating Instructions
The Metabo HC 260 C/2,20 WNB planer is designed for both surface planing and thickness planing, offering simple, tool-free conversion between modes.
Converting Between Modes:
- Follow the tool-free conversion mechanism to switch between surface (jointer) and thickness (planer) modes.
Adjusting Chip Removal and Thickness:
- Chip removal for dressing can be adjusted from 0 to 3 mm.
- Use the hand crank for easy and precise height adjustment of the thickness table.

Uneven Planing / Poor Finish:
- Blades: Check the planer blades for sharpness, damage, or improper installation. Replace or adjust as necessary.
- Parallel Guide: Ensure the parallel guide (joint stop) is properly adjusted and set to the desired angle (e.g., 90°).
