Introduction
The CyberPower CP1000AVRLCD Intelligent LCD UPS System is a mini-tower Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) designed to provide reliable battery backup and surge protection. It is ideal for safeguarding desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems against power fluctuations and outages. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your UPS system.
Key Features
- 1000VA/600W capacity with simulated sine wave output.
- Nine NEMA 5-15R outlets: Five battery backup & surge protected, four surge protected only.
- Multifunction LCD panel for real-time information on battery and power conditions (estimated runtime, battery capacity, load capacity).
- Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, extending battery life.
- USB/Serial Management Ports for connectivity.
- Compact mini-tower design.

Setup
Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove the UPS system from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. Ensure all components, including the UPS unit, power cord, and any included cables, are present.

Placement
Place the UPS in a cool, dry, indoor environment away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
Initial Charging
Before first use, connect the UPS to a standard wall outlet using the provided power cord. Allow the unit to charge for at least 8 hours to ensure the battery is fully charged and ready to provide optimal backup time. The LCD display will indicate charging status.
Connecting Equipment
The CP1000AVRLCD features nine NEMA 5-15R outlets. Five of these provide both battery backup and surge protection, while the remaining four offer surge protection only. Connect critical equipment such as computers, monitors, and networking devices to the "SURGE + BATTERY" outlets. Non-critical peripherals like printers or scanners can be connected to the "SURGE" only outlets.

For network and cable line protection, connect your network cable (RJ45) and coaxial cable to the respective "NETWORK" and "CABLE" in/out ports on the rear panel.
Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
To power on the UPS, press and hold the power button located on the front panel until the LCD screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the display turns off.
LCD Display Functions
The multifunction LCD panel provides real-time status updates. Use the "DISPLAY" button to cycle through various information screens, including:
- Input Voltage: Displays the incoming utility power voltage.
- Output Voltage: Shows the voltage supplied by the UPS to connected equipment.
- Battery Capacity: Indicates the remaining battery charge level.
- Load Capacity: Displays the percentage of the UPS's capacity being used by connected equipment.
- Estimated Runtime: Provides an estimate of how long the UPS can power connected equipment during an outage based on the current load.

Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
The AVR feature automatically stabilizes minor voltage fluctuations (sags and surges) without engaging the battery. This extends battery life by reducing the frequency of battery usage during minor power events.
Mute Alarm
During a power outage or other events, the UPS may emit audible alarms. Press the "MUTE" button on the front panel to silence these alarms temporarily.
Maintenance
Battery Care
The UPS contains a sealed lead-acid battery. For optimal battery life, ensure the unit is kept charged. Avoid storing the UPS in extreme temperatures. Batteries are typically covered by a 3-year warranty.
Cleaning
Periodically clean the exterior of the UPS with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and debris.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your CyberPower UPS, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- UPS does not turn on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a live wall outlet. Verify the circuit breaker on the rear of the UPS has not tripped (press to reset if needed).
- UPS is beeping continuously: This usually indicates a power outage or low battery. Check your utility power. If power is restored, the alarm should cease. If the battery is low, allow the unit to recharge.
- Connected equipment loses power: Ensure equipment is plugged into the "SURGE + BATTERY" outlets. Check the load capacity on the LCD to ensure the UPS is not overloaded.
- "Wiring Fault" indicator is lit: This indicates an issue with the building's wiring (e.g., missing ground). Consult a qualified electrician.
