4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safe and effective operation of your fan. If you are unsure about any part of the installation process, consult a qualified electrician or contractor.

  1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a ceiling location that can structurally support the fan's weight (approximately 23.1 lbs) and allows for adequate clearance around the fan blades. Ensure the location is within reach of a 120V AC power outlet, considering the 10-foot, 3-conductor type SJT power cord.
  2. Mount the Bracket: Securely attach the ceiling mount bracket to a sturdy ceiling joist or structural support using appropriate hardware. Ensure the mounting is firm and stable to prevent vibration or detachment.
  3. Attach the Fan: Carefully lift the fan and attach it to the mounted bracket according to the assembly instructions provided with the hardware. Ensure all connections are tightened.
  4. Install Secondary Safety Cable: As an essential safety measure, attach the secondary safety cable from the fan to a separate, independent structural support point on the ceiling. This cable provides backup security in case the primary mounting fails.
  5. Connect Power: Plug the fan's 10-foot power cord into a grounded 120V AC outlet. Ensure the cord is routed safely to avoid tripping hazards and is not pinched.
