1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Koolatron P85 Krusader Thermoelectric Cooler. This portable cooler is designed to keep your food and beverages either cool or warm, making it ideal for travel, camping, road trips, and more. Utilizing advanced thermoelectric technology, it offers versatile temperature control without the need for ice.
Key features include:
- Large Capacity: 49L (52 QT) interior, accommodating up to 80 standard soft drink cans.
- Versatile Design: Can be used as a classic chest-style cooler or upright like a mini-fridge, with a removable shelf/divider.
- Durable Construction: Injection-molded hard exterior and stain-resistant interior for protection and easy cleaning.
- Dual Power Options: Operates on 12V DC (car, truck, boat) or 110V AC (household outlet with adapter, sold separately).
- Thermoelectric Technology: Cools to 40°F (22°C) below ambient temperature or warms up to 140°F (60°C).
2. Setup and Initial Use
2.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the cooler from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all components, including the 12V DC power plug and the removable shelf, are present.
2.2 Initial Cleaning
Before first use, clean the interior and exterior of the cooler with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Do not immerse the unit in water.
2.3 Pre-cooling/Pre-warming
For optimal performance, it is highly recommended to pre-cool or pre-warm the contents before placing them into the cooler. The thermoelectric technology works best to maintain existing temperatures rather than rapidly changing them. Cooling warm items can take several hours.

3. Operation
3.1 Power Connection
The Koolatron P85 operates on 12V DC power. Connect the included 12V DC power cord to the cooler's power input and then to a 12V outlet in your vehicle (car, truck, boat, RV).
For indoor use, an optional 110V AC adapter (sold separately) is required. Connect the cooler to the AC adapter, then plug the adapter into a standard household outlet.

3.2 Cooling and Warming Modes
The cooler features both cooling and warming functions. The mode is selected by how the power cord connector is plugged into the unit:
- Cooling Mode: Match the arrow on the power cord connector to the BLUE DOT on the cooler's input port. This mode cools contents to approximately 40°F (22°C) below the ambient temperature.
- Warming Mode: Match the arrow on the power cord connector to the RED DOT on the cooler's input port. This mode warms contents up to 140°F (60°C). Note: This cooler is designed to keep warm items warm, not to cook food.

3.3 Usage Tips
- Ensure the fan is not blocked to allow proper air circulation.
- When using in a vehicle, it is advisable to unplug the cooler if the vehicle engine is off for extended periods to prevent battery drain.
- The removable shelf can be used to organize contents or as a divider.
- The cooler can be positioned upright like a mini-fridge or as a chest cooler.
