Setup and Installation
IMPORTANT: All wiring procedures and connections must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes. This heater must be installed by a qualified electrician.
- Location Selection: Choose a wall location that is free from obstructions and allows for proper air circulation. Ensure the heater is not directly below a receptacle outlet.
- Rough-in Can Installation: Secure the rough-in can into the wall opening. The can is designed to fit standard 2" x 4" wall construction. Use the QuickSet Stud Tabs for easy mounting.
- Wiring: Connect the electrical supply wires to the heater's terminal block. This model operates on 120 Volts. Ensure the power supply is disconnected at the circuit breaker before beginning any wiring.
- Heater Assembly: Once wiring is complete and secured, insert the heater assembly into the rough-in can.
- Grille Attachment: Secure the finished grille to the heater assembly using the provided screws.
- Thermostat Connection: This heater requires a wall thermostat or an in-built thermostat (sold separately) for operation. Connect the thermostat according to its specific instructions and local electrical codes.

Operating Instructions
- Power On: After proper installation by a qualified electrician, restore power to the heater circuit at the main electrical panel.
- Thermostat Control: Adjust the connected wall thermostat to your desired temperature setting. The heater will activate when the room temperature falls below the set point.
- Initial Operation: During the first few minutes of operation, the heater may emit a slight odor due to the burning off of manufacturing residues. This is normal and will dissipate quickly.
- Heat Output: The NiChrome element and aluminum fan work together to provide instant, forced-air heat.
- Shut-off: The heater will automatically turn off once the room reaches the thermostat's set temperature. To completely turn off the heater, set the thermostat to its lowest setting or turn off power at the circuit breaker.
Maintenance
WARNING: Disconnect power at the main service panel before performing any maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of electric shock or injury.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Internal Cleaning: For internal cleaning, such as removing dust from the fan blades or heating element, it is recommended to consult a qualified service technician.
- Lubrication: The motor is permanently lubricated and requires no additional maintenance.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the heater for any signs of damage or wear. If any issues are found, discontinue use and contact a qualified electrician.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not turn on. | No power to the unit; Thermostat set too low; Circuit breaker tripped; Smart Limit Protection activated. | Check circuit breaker; Increase thermostat setting; Reset circuit breaker; Turn off power at breaker for a few minutes to reset Smart Limit Protection. |
| Insufficient heat output. | Thermostat set too low; Airflow blocked; Heater size inadequate for room. | Increase thermostat setting; Ensure no obstructions to air intake/exhaust; Consider supplemental heating or a higher wattage unit if room size exceeds heater capacity. |
| Unusual noise during operation. | Loose components; Fan obstruction; Normal operating sounds. | Ensure grille is securely fastened; Check for foreign objects (disconnect power first); Some fan noise is normal for forced-air heaters. If noise is excessive or new, contact a qualified technician. |
| Heater cycles on and off frequently. | Thermostat location or calibration; Overheating (Smart Limit Protection). | Ensure thermostat is not in a drafty area or near other heat sources; Check for blocked airflow; If Smart Limit Protection is frequently activating, have the heater inspected by a qualified electrician. |
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact a qualified electrician or the manufacturer's customer support.
