4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to set up your ATEN CS1744 KVMP Switch:
- Power Off All Devices: Ensure all computers, monitors, and the CS1744 switch are powered off before beginning installation.
- Connect Console Devices:
- Connect your USB keyboard and USB mouse to the designated USB ports on the console side of the CS1744 rear panel.
- Connect your two monitors to the dual VGA ports on the console side of the CS1744 rear panel.
- Connect your speakers and microphone to the corresponding audio jacks on the console side.
- Connect Computers: For each computer you wish to control (up to four):
- Use the provided KVM cables (2L-5202A-1 and 2L-5202U) to connect the computer's dual VGA outputs, USB port, speaker output, and microphone input to the corresponding CPU port on the CS1744. Ensure you connect both VGA cables for dual-view functionality.
- Connect USB Peripherals (Optional): If you have additional USB peripherals (e.g., printer, scanner), connect them to the 2-port USB Hub on the CS1744.
- Power On: Connect the power adapter to the CS1744 and then plug it into a power outlet. Power on the CS1744, then power on your monitors, and finally power on the connected computers.
The CS1744 will automatically detect the connected computers. You can now switch between them using the front panel buttons or hotkeys.

Switching Between Computers
- Front Panel Pushbuttons: Press the corresponding port selection button (1-4) on the front panel of the CS1744 to switch to the desired computer. The LED indicators will show the currently active port.

Independent Switching
