3.2 Inserting Glue Sticks
- Ensure the glue gun is unplugged and cool.
- Insert an 11.3mm (or 12mm) diameter glue stick into the opening at the rear of the gun. Push it firmly until it stops.
- For the first use, you may need to insert a second glue stick to push the first one fully into the heating chamber.
3.3 Power Connection
Plug the glue gun into a suitable 220-240V, 50Hz power outlet. If the supplied plug is not compatible with your local outlets, use a certified plug adapter. Do not force the plug into an incompatible outlet.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Heating Up
- After plugging in, allow the glue gun to heat for approximately 3-6 minutes. The exact time may vary based on the selected temperature setting.
- The glue gun features a switch on the handle for 'HIGH' and 'LOW' temperature settings. Select the appropriate setting for your application.
- LOW Temperature: Suitable for delicate materials like foam, fabric, or for general-purpose bonding where lower heat is preferred.
- HIGH Temperature: Ideal for stronger bonds and materials such as wood, ceramics, and some plastics.
4.2 Applying Glue
- Once heated, gently squeeze the trigger to dispense melted glue from the nozzle.
- Apply glue to one surface and immediately press the two surfaces together. Hot glue sets quickly, so work efficiently.
- Use the integrated flip-out stand to rest the glue gun safely on a heat-resistant surface when not actively applying glue. This prevents the hot nozzle from touching your work surface and helps manage any minor dripping.
4.3 Finishing Up
When finished, unplug the glue gun from the power outlet. Allow it to cool completely before storing.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Ensure the glue gun is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the gun with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Do not attempt to clean the nozzle while the gun is hot. Any hardened glue around the nozzle can usually be carefully picked off once the gun is cold.
5.2 Storage
Store the cooled glue gun in a dry, safe place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure it is out of reach of children.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Glue not flowing | Not enough heating time; glue stick not fully inserted; empty glue stick. | Allow more heating time (3-6 minutes). Push glue stick firmly. Insert a new glue stick. |
| Excessive dripping from nozzle | Normal for some glue guns; incorrect temperature setting. | Use the flip-out stand to catch drips. Ensure the correct temperature setting is selected for the glue stick type. |
| Glue gun not heating | Not plugged in; faulty power outlet; incorrect plug adapter. | Check power connection. Test outlet with another appliance. Ensure plug adapter is functional and correctly used. |
| Power plug incompatibility | Product supplied with a plug type different from local standard. | Obtain a certified plug adapter suitable for your region. Do not attempt to modify the original plug. |
