1. Introduction
The EHEIM Twin Automatic Fish Feeder is designed to provide precise and reliable feeding for your aquatic inhabitants. Featuring dual chambers, it can dispense two different types of dry fish food, such as granulate, sticks, pellets, or flakes, ensuring all aquarium inhabitants receive appropriate nutrition. Its programmable functions allow for customized feeding schedules, including a random function to simulate natural feeding conditions. The aerated chambers help keep food dry and fresh.

2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
The EHEIM TWIN Automatic Feeder operates on 2 AAA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries, locate the battery compartment, typically on the underside or back of the unit. Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.
2.2 Filling Food Chambers
The feeder features two separate food chambers. To fill, open the hinged covers on top of each chamber. Carefully pour your desired dry fish food (granulate, sticks, pellets, or flakes) into each chamber. Ensure not to overfill, allowing space for the auger mechanism to operate freely. Close the covers securely after filling.

2.3 Placement
Position the feeder securely above your aquarium. Consider the feeder's dimensions (approximately 6.34 x 2.91 x 4.65 inches) to ensure it fits properly within your aquarium setup, especially if using a tank cover. It should be placed where dispensed food can fall directly into the water without obstruction and away from excessive moisture or splashing.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Setting Current Time
- Press the SET button for 3 seconds until the "Hours" flash on the display.
- Use the minus (-) or plus (+) buttons to adjust the hour.
- Press SET to confirm.
- Then, set the "Minutes" using the minus/plus buttons and confirm with SET.
3.2 Programming Feeding Times
The feeder allows for multiple feeding times per day for each chamber. For each feeding event:
- Set the "Hours" using the minus/plus buttons and confirm with SET.
- Set the "Minutes" using the minus/plus buttons and confirm with SET.
- Set the number of rotations (dispensing cycles) for that specific feeding event, from 1 to 9 rotations, and confirm with SET.
Repeat this process for up to three feeding times per day for each of the two food chambers. If a feeding time is not desired, set the number of rotations to zero.
3.3 Random Function
The feeder includes a random function to simulate natural feeding conditions. This can be selected during programming for specific feeding events to vary the exact dispensing time slightly.
3.4 Manual Feeding
To manually dispense food outside of programmed times, select the desired program and press the ENTER button. This will immediately run that specific feeding cycle.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Regular cleaning of the EHEIM TWIN Automatic Feeder is essential for optimal performance and hygiene. The covers, augers, and battery compartment are removable to facilitate cleaning. It is recommended to hand wash these components. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and refilling with food.

4.2 Keeping Food Dry
The feeder features aerated chambers designed to ensure your food stays dry. Periodically check the food chambers for any moisture buildup. If moisture is present, remove the food, clean and dry the chambers thoroughly before refilling.
4.3 Battery Check
Monitor the battery indicator on the display. Replace batteries promptly when the indicator shows low power to ensure uninterrupted feeding.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Food Clogging
If food is not dispensing correctly, check for clogging in the auger mechanism. Flake food, due to its static nature and lack of uniformity, can sometimes clog the feeder. Consider using pellets or crisps for more consistent dispensing. Clean the augers and chambers if necessary.
5.2 Unit Malfunction due to Moisture
The EHEIM TWIN Automatic Feeder is designed for use near water but is not waterproof. Avoid direct contact with water. If the unit accidentally comes into contact with water, immediately remove batteries, thoroughly dry the unit, and test its functionality. Significant water exposure may cause irreversible damage.
5.3 Programming Issues
If programming seems difficult or incorrect, refer to the "Operating Instructions" section (Section 3) and follow the steps carefully. Ensure each setting (hours, minutes, rotations) is confirmed with the SET button.
