1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your Nuwave 20201 Analog-Controlled Infrared Tabletop Oven. Please read all instructions carefully before use and retain this manual for future reference.

The Nuwave Infrared Oven utilizes a patented triple cooking method: Conduction, Convection, and Far Infrared radiant heat. This combination allows for faster cooking times, energy efficiency, and the ability to cook foods from frozen without preheating or defrosting.

2. Important Safety Instructions

• Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the power head in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended household use.
• CAUTION: HOT SURFACE - The exterior surfaces of the oven may become hot during operation.

3. Setup and Assembly

Before first use, wash all parts except the power head with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The power head should only be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

1. Place the base tray on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
2. Insert the liner pan into the base tray, ensuring its handles are dropped down.
3. Place the cooking rack inside the liner pan. You can choose between high or low rack positions depending on your cooking needs.
4. Carefully place the power dome onto the base tray.
5. Position the power head on top of the dome. Rotate it clockwise until it locks securely into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Quick Start / Default Settings

1. Plug the oven into a power outlet.
2. Press the Power button. The default cooking temperature of 350°F will appear on the display.
3. Press Start to begin cooking. The oven will cook for the default time of 15 minutes.
4. To pause cooking, press Start again.

4.2 Adjusting Temperature and Time

• To change temperature: Press the Temp button, then use the keypad (0-9) to enter your desired temperature. The oven can be set between 50°F and 350°F.
• To change time: Press the Time button, then use the keypad (0-9) to enter your desired cooking time in hours and minutes. The maximum cooking time is 99 hours and 59 minutes. Note: When cooking at 325°F or higher, the maximum cooking time is 2 hours.

4.3 Using Presets

The oven comes with 100 pre-programmed recipes. Refer to the included recipe book for details on each preset.

1. Press the Menu button.
2. Use the keypad to select the desired preset number.
3. Press Start to begin cooking with the selected preset settings.

4.4 Programming Custom Presets

Preset slots 101 through 150 are available for your custom recipes.

1. Set your desired cooking temperature and time using the Temp and Time buttons.
2. Press the Menu button twice.
3. Use the keypad to select a slot number (101-150) for your custom recipe.
4. Press and hold the Menu button until "SAVE" is displayed to save your settings.
5. To cook using your custom preset, press Menu twice, select your custom preset number, then press Start.

4.5 Reheat Function

To reheat food, simply press the Reheat button, then press Start. The oven will cook at 350°F for 4 minutes. You can adjust the reheat temperature and time as desired before pressing Start.

4.6 Delay Start

You can program the oven to start cooking at a later time (up to 24 hours delay).

1. Set your desired cooking temperature and time.
2. Press the Delay button. "DLY" will be shown on the display.
3. Enter the amount of time you want to delay cooking in hours and minutes using the keypad.
4. Press Start. The oven will count down the delay time before automatically beginning to cook.

5. Changing Settings

5.1 Temperature Unit (Fahrenheit/Celsius)

To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C):

1. Press the Temp button to display the current temperature.
2. Press and hold the Temp button for 4 seconds until you hear two beeps. The display will change to the alternate unit.
3. Repeat the process to switch back.

5.2 Time Display (Minutes/Seconds)

To switch the time display between minutes and seconds:

1. Press the Time button to display the current time.
2. Press and hold the Time button for 2 seconds until you hear two beeps. The display will show minutes and seconds.
3. Repeat the process to switch back.

Note: These changes will be saved even if the unit is powered off or unplugged.

5.3 Control Panel Lock

To prevent accidental button presses, you can lock the control panel:

1. Press and hold the Start and Delay buttons simultaneously until you hear two beeps and "LOC" appears on the display.
2. While locked, only the Power button will function.
3. To unlock, press and hold the Start and Delay buttons again, or turn the oven off.

5.4 Mute Function

To turn off all oven beeping sounds:

1. Press and hold the Delay and Reheat buttons simultaneously until you hear two beeps.
2. Repeat the process to unmute the oven.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

• Always unplug the oven and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• All parts, except the power head, are dishwasher safe.
• The power head should be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the power head in water or any other liquid.
• For stubborn food residue, soak parts in warm, soapy water before cleaning.
• Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing.

For compact storage, remove the power head and place it inside the dome. This allows for a more space-saving solution when the oven is not in use.
