Setup and Assembly

The Body-Solid G6BR Multi-Station Gym Machine requires assembly. It is recommended that two or more people assemble this equipment due to its size and weight. The machine arrives in multiple boxes, including separate boxes for the weight stack.

  1. Unpacking and Inventory: Carefully unpack all boxes. Lay out all components and compare them against the parts list provided in the separate assembly manual. Identify all hardware using the bolt measuring figure.
  2. Preparation: Clear a large, open space for assembly. Ensure the chosen location allows for the machine's dimensions (84"D x 58"W x 84"H) and provides adequate clearance for exercises.
  3. Frame Assembly: Begin by assembling the main frame components. Pay close attention to the diagrams for correct orientation of parts and the sequence of bolts and washers. Some parts may be pre-lubricated; handle with care.
  4. Cable and Pulley Installation: Install the cables and pulleys according to the detailed diagrams. Ensure cables are routed correctly through all pulleys to prevent friction and ensure smooth operation.
  5. Weight Stack Installation: Carefully install the 210lb weight stack. Ensure the state-of-the-art nylon bushings are properly seated for smooth and quiet operation.
  6. Seat and Pad Installation: Attach the seat, backrest, and other pads. Ensure the 'Body-Solid G6B Limited Edition' logo on the seat is correctly oriented.
  7. Accessory Attachment: Attach all handles, bars, and other accessories to their designated points.
  8. Final Inspection: After assembly, perform a thorough inspection. Check all bolts and nuts for tightness. Verify that all moving parts operate smoothly and without obstruction. Lubricate guide rods with silicone spray as recommended.

  • Hip Abduction

Attach an ankle strap to the low pulley. Stand sideways to the machine, holding onto the frame for support. Abduct your leg (move it away from your body) against the resistance. Control the return. Alternate legs.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Body-Solid G6BR gym machine.

  • Lubrication: Apply silicone spray to the weight stack guide rods regularly (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly, depending on usage) to ensure smooth and quiet movement. Apply to a cloth and wipe the rods to avoid mess.
  • Cleaning: Wipe down the machine after each use with a damp cloth to remove sweat and dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all nuts, bolts, and connections for tightness. Inspect cables and pulleys for any signs of fraying, wear, or damage. Check upholstery for tears. Replace any worn parts immediately.
  • Cable Tension: Ensure proper cable tension. If cables feel loose or too tight, refer to the assembly manual for adjustment instructions or contact customer support.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your G6BR machine.

  • Weight Stack Sticking/Chattering: This is typically due to insufficient lubrication. Apply silicone spray to the weight stack guide rods as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Noisy Operation: Check for loose bolts or worn pulleys. Ensure all cables are properly routed and not rubbing against any part of the frame. Lubricate moving parts.
  • Loose Cables: Cables may stretch over time. Refer to the assembly manual for instructions on how to adjust cable tension. If cables are frayed, they must be replaced immediately.
  • Difficulty with Movement: Ensure the weight pin is fully inserted. Check for any obstructions in the cable path or around moving parts. Verify that all adjustment pins are securely engaged.
  • Missing Parts (during assembly): If you discover missing parts during assembly, contact Body-Solid customer support directly with your purchase information.
