Setup Guide

Follow these steps to correctly assemble your telescope:

1. Tripod Assembly:
   Extend the adjustable tripod legs to your desired height and secure the clamps. Attach the accessory tray bracket to the tripod legs, then place the accessory tray onto the bracket, ensuring it clicks into place.
2. Equatorial Mount Installation:
   Attach the equatorial mount to the top of the tripod using the provided screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
3. Counterweight Installation:
   Thread the counterweight shaft into the equatorial mount. Slide the counterweight onto the shaft and secure it with the locking screw. Adjust its position for balance later.
4. Optical Tube Attachment:
   Loosen the fastening rings on the optical tube. Carefully place the optical tube onto the equatorial mount's dovetail base, aligning it properly. Gently tighten the fastening rings to secure the tube, avoiding overtightening.
5. Finderscope Installation:
   Attach the finderscope bracket to the optical tube. Slide the red dot finderscope into its bracket and tighten the screws to hold it in place.
6. Eyepiece and Barlow Lens Installation:
   Insert the desired eyepiece (e.g., 25mm for lower magnification) into the focuser. Secure it with the small thumbscrew. For higher magnification, you can insert the 3x Barlow lens into the focuser first, then insert an eyepiece into the Barlow lens.
7. Smartphone Adapter Attachment:
   To use the smartphone adapter, attach your phone to the adapter. Then, attach the adapter with an eyepiece inserted into it, to the telescope's focuser. Adjust the phone's camera to align with the eyepiece view.

Operating Instructions

1. Initial Alignment (Daytime):
   Before observing celestial objects, practice during the day. Point the telescope at a distant, stationary object (e.g., a tree or building). Use the red dot finderscope to center the object in its crosshairs. Then, look through the main eyepiece and adjust the focuser knob until the image is sharp. This aligns the finderscope with the main telescope.
2. Observing Celestial Objects:
   Once the finderscope is aligned, use it to locate your desired celestial object. Center the object in the finderscope's crosshairs. Then, look through the main eyepiece. Start with the lowest magnification eyepiece (e.g., 25mm) for a wider field of view, then switch to higher magnification eyepieces or use the Barlow lens as needed.
3. Focusing:
   Use the focuser knobs to achieve a clear and sharp image. Fine adjustments may be needed as objects move or as atmospheric conditions change.
4. Using the Equatorial Mount:
   The equatorial mount allows for precise tracking of celestial objects as they move across the night sky. Use the slow-motion adjustment cables to make fine adjustments to the telescope's position in both Right Ascension and Declination axes.
5. Using the Moon Filter:
   For observing the moon, especially when it is bright, attach the moon filter to the eyepiece to reduce glare and enhance contrast, providing a more comfortable view.
