Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Hama Wave Plug-In Charger Set. This charger is designed for NiCd and NiMH rechargeable batteries of AA and AAA sizes. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.
Safety Instructions
- Use this charger only for NiCd and NiMH rechargeable batteries. Attempting to charge other battery types (e.g., alkaline, lithium) may cause explosion, injury, or damage.
- Do not expose the charger to moisture, rain, or extreme temperatures.
- Do not open or modify the charger. Repairs should only be performed by qualified personnel.
- Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries (+ to + and - to -). Incorrect insertion can damage the charger and batteries.
- Unplug the charger from the power outlet when not in use or before cleaning.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Dispose of used batteries and the charger according to local regulations.

Setup
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment of the charger. Insert 1 or 2 AA or AAA NiCd/NiMH rechargeable batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). The charger supports individual battery charging.
- Connect to Power: Plug the charger directly into a standard 220-240 V / 50 Hz AC wall outlet.
Operating Instructions
- Charging Process: Once plugged in with batteries inserted, the charging process begins automatically. An LED indicator will illuminate to show that charging is active.
- Charging Time: This charger features permanent charging. The charging time must be calculated manually based on the battery capacity and the charger's output current.
- For AA batteries (2500 mAh) with a charging current of 200 mA: Charging time = (Battery Capacity / Charging Current) * 1.4 (safety factor) = (2500 mAh / 200 mA) * 1.4 = 12.5 * 1.4 = approximately 17.5 hours.
- For AAA batteries (e.g., 800 mAh) with a charging current of 80 mA: Charging time = (800 mAh / 80 mA) * 1.4 = 10 * 1.4 = approximately 14 hours.
- Completion: The LED indicator remains lit during charging. There is no automatic shut-off. Manually unplug the charger from the wall outlet once the calculated charging time has elapsed.
- Remove Batteries: Carefully remove the charged batteries from the charger.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from the power supply before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
- Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid completely discharging NiMH batteries. Charge them before they are fully depleted.
