Two Hama 2500 mAh AA NiMH rechargeable batteries

This image displays two Hama 2500 mAh AA NiMH rechargeable batteries, which are included with the charger set. Each battery is yellow and silver, featuring the 'hama' logo and '2500' capacity marking.

Setup

  1. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment of the charger. Insert 1 or 2 AA or AAA NiCd/NiMH rechargeable batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). The charger supports individual battery charging.
  2. Connect to Power: Plug the charger directly into a standard 220-240 V / 50 Hz AC wall outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Charging Process: Once plugged in with batteries inserted, the charging process begins automatically. An LED indicator will illuminate to show that charging is active.
  2. Charging Time: This charger features permanent charging. The charging time must be calculated manually based on the battery capacity and the charger's output current.
    • For AA batteries (2500 mAh) with a charging current of 200 mA: Charging time = (Battery Capacity / Charging Current) * 1.4 (safety factor) = (2500 mAh / 200 mA) * 1.4 = 12.5 * 1.4 = approximately 17.5 hours.
    • For AAA batteries (e.g., 800 mAh) with a charging current of 80 mA: Charging time = (800 mAh / 80 mA) * 1.4 = 10 * 1.4 = approximately 14 hours.
Note: These are approximate times. Overcharging can reduce battery lifespan. It is recommended to unplug the charger after the calculated time.
  3. Completion: The LED indicator remains lit during charging. There is no automatic shut-off. Manually unplug the charger from the wall outlet once the calculated charging time has elapsed.
  4. Remove Batteries: Carefully remove the charged batteries from the charger.
