Setup
Before connecting your Behringer MiniAmp AMP800, ensure all audio equipment is powered off to prevent potential damage. Refer to the diagrams below for proper connection procedures.

Figure 1: Front panel of the Behringer MiniAmp AMP800, illustrating the four headphone output channels, each with dedicated level and balance controls, and input A/B selection buttons. The main power button and clip indicators are also visible.

Figure 2: Side view of the Behringer MiniAmp AMP800, demonstrating its compact form factor and the non-slip rubber feet designed to prevent scratching surfaces and provide stability during use.
- Power Connection: Connect the included power adapter to the 9V DC input on the rear panel of the AMP800. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet.
- Audio Input: Connect your audio source(s) to the INPUT A and/or INPUT B 1/4" TRS jacks on the rear panel. These inputs accept stereo signals. For mono signals, use a mono 1/4" TS cable.
- Headphone Connection: Plug your headphones into the 1/4" TRS output jacks on the front panel. Each channel (CH 1-4) supports one set of headphones.
- Cascading (Optional): To connect additional headphone amplifiers, use the PARALLEL LINK OUTPUT 1/4" TRS jacks on the rear panel to send the input signal to another amplifier.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Press the POWER button on the front panel to turn on the unit. The power indicator LED will illuminate.
- Input Selection: For each headphone channel (CH 1-4), use the INPUT A/B button to select which stereo input (A or B) will be routed to that channel. The corresponding LED will light up (A or B).
- Input Level Adjustment: Adjust the LEVEL knob for INPUT A and INPUT B on the front panel to set the overall input signal strength. Monitor the CLIP LEDs; if they illuminate frequently, reduce the input level to prevent distortion.
- Headphone Level Adjustment: For each headphone channel, use the PHONES LEVEL knob to adjust the individual volume for the connected headphones.
- Balance Control: The BALANCE knob for each channel allows you to mix between the two input sources (A and B) if both are active. Turning the knob towards 'A' will favor input A, and towards 'B' will favor input B.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Behringer MiniAmp AMP800, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the amplifier in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cable Management: Avoid excessive bending or crimping of cables. Use appropriate cable lengths to prevent strain on connectors.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Behringer MiniAmp AMP800, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the unit and a working power outlet. Verify the power button is pressed.
- No Sound: Check all audio cable connections. Ensure the input source is active and sending a signal. Verify the correct input (A or B) is selected for the headphone channel. Increase the PHONES LEVEL and INPUT LEVEL knobs.
- Distorted Sound: Reduce the INPUT LEVEL if the CLIP LED is frequently illuminating. Ensure the audio source signal is not overdriven. Check headphone impedance compatibility.
- Hum or Noise: Ensure all cables are properly shielded and connected. Try using different power outlets. Disconnect other electronic devices that might be causing interference.
- One Channel Not Working: Test with different headphones and cables. Verify the input selection and level for that specific channel.
