1. Introduction

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Battery Installation

The Astatic D104M6B requires one 9V battery (not included) for its amplified ceramic power element. Follow these steps to install the battery:

  1. Locate the four screws on the back cover of the microphone.
  2. Carefully remove the screws and detach the back cover.
  3. Insert a new 9V battery into the battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity. The circuit board has direct battery attachments; support the circuit board with a finger while pressing the battery into place to prevent damage.
  4. Replace the back cover and secure it with the four screws.

2.2 Connecting to Your CB Radio

This microphone features a standard 4-pin connector for compatibility with most CB radios. Ensure your CB radio is powered off before connecting the microphone.

  1. Align the 4-pin connector of the microphone with the microphone port on your CB radio.
  2. Gently push the connector into the port until it is fully seated.
  3. Secure the connection by tightening the threaded collar on the microphone connector, if present, to the radio's port.
