4. Setup

Before operating the MV7300, ensure all components are properly assembled and connected.

  1. Attach Extraction Tube: Select the appropriate diameter extraction tube for your application. Insert one end of the tube into the quick-connect fitting on the lid of the evacuator. Ensure it is securely seated.
  2. Connect Air Supply: Connect your compressed air supply hose to the air inlet fitting located at the base of the unit. The MV7300 requires a compressed air source to generate vacuum.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Fluid Extraction

The MV7300 is designed for evacuating engine oil, gear and transmission oils, power steering fluid, coolants, and brake fluid. It is not designed for dispensing fluids.

  1. Prepare Vehicle/Equipment: Ensure the fluid to be extracted is below 176°F (80°C). Allow engines to cool if necessary. Position the MV7300 on a stable, level surface near the vehicle or equipment.
  2. Insert Extraction Tube: Carefully insert the selected extraction tube into the fluid reservoir (e.g., engine dipstick tube, brake fluid reservoir) until it reaches the lowest point where fluid can be drawn. Some vehicles may have obstructions preventing tube insertion; do not force the tube.
  3. Activate Vacuum: Connect the compressed air supply (if not already connected). Open the air shut-off valve on the unit to begin generating vacuum. The unit will start drawing fluid into the reservoir.

  1. Monitor Fluid Level: Observe the fluid level in the translucent reservoir. The unit has overflow prevention.
  2. Complete Extraction: Once fluid extraction is complete, close the air shut-off valve and disconnect the air supply. Remove the extraction tube from the reservoir.

5.2. Brake/Clutch Bleeding

The included MVA7205 brake/clutch bleeding kit allows for vacuum bleeding of hydraulic brake and clutch systems.

  1. Prepare System: Ensure the master cylinder reservoir is full of new, clean brake fluid.
  2. Connect Bleeding Kit: Attach the appropriate adapter from the MVA7205 kit to the bleeder screw of the caliper or wheel cylinder. Connect the other end of the bleeding kit hose to the MV7300's extraction port.
  3. Bleed System: With the bleeder screw slightly open, activate the vacuum on the MV7300 as described in Section 5.1. Monitor the fluid and air bubbles being drawn into the evacuator. Close the bleeder screw before deactivating the vacuum.
  4. Repeat: Repeat the process for each wheel or clutch slave cylinder until no air bubbles are visible and firm pedal pressure is achieved. Regularly check and refill the master cylinder reservoir to prevent air from entering the system.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Mityvac MV7300.

  1. Fluid Disposal: After each use, dispose of the extracted fluid responsibly. The MV7300 features a quick-drain spout for easy transfer of used fluids into appropriate recycling containers.

  1. Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the unit and all tubes with a mild detergent and water. Ensure all components are dry before storage.
  2. Inspection: Regularly inspect hoses, fittings, and the reservoir for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace damaged parts immediately to maintain vacuum integrity and prevent leaks.
  3. Storage: Store the MV7300 in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
