1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when operating the JNC660 jump starter. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in serious injury or damage to the unit or vehicle.

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves, when working with batteries.

4. Setup and Initial Charging

Before first use, the JNC660 must be fully charged. This ensures optimal performance and extends battery life.

  1. Locate the 2-prong male input on the JNC660 unit.
  2. Connect a standard household extension cord (not included) to this input.
  3. Plug the other end of the extension cord into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to jump start a vehicle using your JNC660:

  1. Ensure the JNC660 is fully charged. Check the DC Volts gauge for battery status.
  2. Turn off the ignition of the vehicle to be jump started and ensure all accessories (lights, radio, etc.) are off.
  3. Connect the positive (red) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's discharged battery. Ensure a secure connection.
  4. Connect the negative (black) clamp to a clean, unpainted metal part of the vehicle's chassis or engine block, away from the battery and any moving parts. This provides a safe ground connection.
  5. Attempt to start the vehicle. If the vehicle does not start immediately, wait a few minutes before trying again to allow the jump starter to transfer more charge.
  6. Once the vehicle starts, disconnect the negative (black) clamp from the vehicle's chassis/engine block first.
  7. Then, disconnect the positive (red) clamp from the vehicle's battery terminal.
  8. Immediately recharge the JNC660 after each use to maintain its readiness.

Alternative Connection (Use with Caution): In some cases, if the standard grounding method does not work, you may connect the negative (black) clamp directly to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle's battery. This method carries a slightly higher risk of sparking and should only be used if the primary method is unsuccessful.
