Introduction

The TOMY Constructables Motorized Building Playset allows children aged 3 and up to build a variety of vehicles such as race cars, trains, helicopters, and planes. This set encourages creativity and problem-solving by enabling users to create their own unique vehicle designs. The motorized power pack brings creations to life, making propellers twirl, wheels turn, and smokestacks spin.

Safety Information

Choking Hazard: This toy contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Adult supervision is recommended.
Battery Safety: Use only the specified battery type (2x AA batteries, not included). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Insert batteries with correct polarity (+/-). Remove exhausted batteries promptly.
General Use: Do not expose the motorized unit to water or extreme temperatures. Keep away from hair and loose clothing when in operation.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

Locate the battery compartment on the motorized power pack.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, carefully open the battery compartment cover.
Insert 2x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

2. Initial Assembly

The Constructables pieces are designed for easy connection. Refer to the included instruction sheet for detailed steps on building specific vehicles like the race car, train, helicopter, or plane. The pieces snap together securely.

Operating Instructions

Once assembled, the motorized power pack brings your creations to life. The set allows for the construction of various vehicles, or you can design your own.

Building Vehicles

Follow the step-by-step diagrams in the instruction sheet to build the suggested vehicles. Each piece is designed to connect intuitively to the motorized power pack or other components.

Activating the Motorized Power Pack

After assembling your vehicle, locate the ON/OFF switch on the motorized power pack. Flip the switch to the "ON" position to activate the motor. Depending on your construction, the propeller will twirl, wheels will turn, or the smokestack will spin.

Maintenance

Cleaning: Wipe the plastic pieces with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the motorized power pack in water.
Storage: Store all pieces in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight to prevent damage or discoloration.
Battery Care: Remove batteries if the toy will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Possible Cause	Solution
Motorized unit does not operate.	Batteries are dead or incorrectly installed.	Replace batteries with new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
Loud clicking noise from motorized unit.	Internal plastic piece rubbing against gears (common issue).	This is a known characteristic. For advanced users, some have reported carefully opening the battery compartment (4 screws) and removing a small plastic tab that causes the noise. This modification is not officially supported and may void any implied warranty.
Vehicle does not move well on carpet.	Motor strength and wheel design are optimized for smooth, hard surfaces.	Operate the vehicle on hard floors or low-pile carpets for best performance.
Pieces fall apart easily.	Pieces may not be fully engaged or are subject to rough handling.	Ensure all connections are firmly snapped into place. Encourage gentle play.
