The K&H Lectro-Soft Heated Bed features an internal thermostat that automatically warms the surface of the bed to your pet's normal body temperature (approximately 102°F) only when your pet is lying on the heated pad. When your pet is not on the bed, the surface will remain 10-15 degrees above the ambient air temperature, conserving energy.

5. Testing the Heated Bed
It is normal for the K&H Heated Bed to not feel warm to the touch when your pet is not on the pad. Our energy-efficient warmers are designed to reach maximum temperature only when your pet is lying on the bed. To test the bed, follow these steps:
- Plug the bed directly into an outlet.
- Place a large pillow or other insulating object over part of your Lectro-Soft bed.
- Wait approximately 20 minutes.
