Setup

Battery Installation

The thermometer requires 1 AAA battery, which is pre-installed. If replacement is needed:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
  2. Slide the battery cover open.
  3. Insert 1 AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

Probe Connection

Insert the probe's jack firmly into the port on the side of the thermometer unit. Ensure a secure connection for accurate readings.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Press the 'ON' button to turn the thermometer on. To turn off, press and hold the 'ON' button for a few seconds.

Temperature Monitoring

  1. Insert the stainless steel probe into the thickest part of the food, avoiding bone or gristle.
  2. Place the thermometer unit outside the oven or grill, allowing the silicone cord to pass through the door seal. The cord is safe up to 485°F (250°C).
  3. The display will show the 'CURRENT' temperature.
  4. Use the 'MODE' button to cycle through preset USDA temperatures for beef, poultry, pork, fish, or select 'CUSTOM' for a user-defined target temperature.
  5. Adjust the 'TARGET TEMP' using the 'Min.' and 'Sec.' buttons.

Timer Function

The thermometer can also function as a standalone timer with a range of up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

  1. Press the 'Time/Temp' button to switch to timer mode.
  2. Use the 'Min.' and 'Sec.' buttons to set the desired countdown time.
  3. Press 'STOP/START' to begin or pause the timer.
  4. Press 'CLEAR' to reset the timer.

Temperature Alarm

Once the 'CURRENT' temperature reaches the 'TARGET TEMP', an audible alarm will sound, indicating that your food has reached the desired doneness.

Unit Conversion (°F/°C)

Press the '°F/°C' button on the side of the unit to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature displays.

Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the thermometer unit clean with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water. The stainless steel probe can be cleaned with warm, soapy water.
  • Probe Care: Always handle the probe carefully. Avoid bending or kinking the cord.
  • Storage: Store the thermometer and probe in a dry place when not in use.
