1. Product Overview

The Radio Shack Plug' n Power Home Security System is a wireless, easy-to-install solution designed to provide peace of mind for your home, apartment, or condo. 2. Package Contents

Please verify that all the following components are included in your package:

Note: Additional batteries are required and not included: 4 x "AAA" batteries (for Motion Detector) and 6 x "AA" batteries (for Door/Window Sensors).

4. Setup Guide

4.1. Powering the Control Console

4.2. Installing Batteries

Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

• Keychain Remote: The two CR2016 lithium batteries are pre-installed. If replacement is needed, refer to the Maintenance section.
• Motion Detector: Insert 4 "AAA" batteries into the battery compartment.
• Door/Window Sensors: Insert 3 "AA" batteries into each sensor's battery compartment (total 6 "AA" batteries for two sensors).

4.3. Sensor Placement

• Door/Window Sensors: Mount one part of the sensor on the door/window frame and the other part on the door/window itself, ensuring they are aligned and close to each other when the door/window is closed.
• Motion Detector: Place the motion detector in a corner or high vantage point in the room you wish to monitor, ensuring it has a clear line of sight to the area. Avoid placing it near heat sources or direct sunlight.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Arming the System

To activate the security system:

• Using the Control Console: Press the 'ARM' button on the console. The system will emit a confirmation tone, and the status indicator will change.
• Using the Keychain Remote: Press the 'ARM' button on the keychain remote. The system will confirm arming with a tone.

5.2. Disarming the System

To deactivate the security system:

• Using the Control Console: Enter your disarm code (if set up) or press the 'DISARM' button. The system will emit a confirmation tone.
• Using the Keychain Remote: Press the 'DISARM' button on the keychain remote. The system will confirm disarming with a tone.

5.3. Monitoring Features

The system includes a built-in microphone. If the system contacts a pre-programmed number during an alarm, the person on the other end can listen to the sounds in the room where the control console is located.

6.1. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries promptly when low battery indicators appear or system performance degrades.

• Keychain Remote: Replace with 2 x CR2016 lithium batteries.
• Motion Detector: Replace with 4 x "AAA" batteries.
• Door/Window Sensors: Replace with 3 x "AA" batteries per sensor.

Always dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

6.2. Cleaning

Wipe the surfaces of the control console and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the components.

• System does not arm/disarm:
  • Check if the control console is properly plugged into an AC outlet.
