Key Components:

Setup

1. Installing the Battery

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the supplied Lithium Ion battery, ensuring the correct orientation as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely until it clicks.
  4. Note: Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

2. Inserting a Memory Card

  1. Open the memory card slot cover, usually adjacent to the battery compartment.
  2. Insert an SDHC memory card with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.
  3. Close the memory card slot cover.
  4. Note: A memory card is required to store photos and videos.

3. Initial Settings (Date and Time)

  1. Turn on the camera using the power button.
  2. The first time you turn on the camera, a date/time setting screen will appear.
  3. Use the control pad to navigate and set the correct date, time, and time zone.
  4. Confirm your settings to proceed.

Operating the Camera

1. Turning On/Off

  • To turn on: Press the POWER button.
  • To turn off: Press the POWER button again.

2. Taking Photos (Automatic Mode)

  1. Set the Mode Dial to the AUTO position.
  2. Frame your subject using the LCD monitor.
  3. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. The camera will automatically adjust focus and exposure.
  4. Once focus is achieved (indicated by a green frame), press the shutter button fully to capture the image.

3. Recording Videos

  1. Set the Mode Dial to the MOVIE mode (if available, or select from menu).
  2. Frame your scene.
  3. Press the dedicated movie record button (or shutter button, depending on model) to start recording.
  4. Press the button again to stop recording.
  5. Note: The camera supports 1080p video resolution at 30 FPS.

4. Playback

  1. Press the PLAYBACK button (often indicated by a triangle icon).
  2. Use the control pad to scroll through your captured photos and videos.
  3. To exit playback mode, press the playback button again or the shutter button.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Camera

  • Camera Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the camera body. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using organic solvents.
  • Lens: Gently remove dust with a lens blower brush. For smudges, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and lens cleaning fluid. Do not touch the lens surface with your fingers.
  • LCD Monitor: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid pressing hard on the screen.

Battery Care

  • Always use the original Panasonic battery and charger.
  • Do not expose the battery to excessive heat or cold.
  • If the camera will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery.

Storage

  • Store the camera in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and high humidity.
  • Use a camera bag or case to protect it from dust and scratches.

Troubleshooting
