  • Anti-Shim Technology: Integrated anti-shim technology provides maximum security against shimming attacks.

Setup

The Master Lock 1500T series combination padlocks come with a permanently assigned, pre-set 3-digit combination. This combination cannot be changed.

Initial Combination

  1. Locate the Combination: The pre-set combination is typically found on a sticker on the back of the lock or on the product packaging. It is crucial to retain this number for future reference.
  2. Verify Operation: Before initial use, practice opening the lock using the provided combination to familiarize yourself with the dialing sequence.

Operating the Lock

To Open Your Master Lock 1500T Combination Padlock:

  1. Clear the Dial: Turn the dial three or more full turns to the right (clockwise) to clear any previously entered numbers.
  2. First Number: Stop at the first number of your combination.
  3. Second Number: Turn the dial to the left (counter-clockwise), passing the first number once, and then stop at the second number of your combination on the second pass.
  4. Third Number: Turn the dial to the right (clockwise) and stop at the third number of your combination.
  5. Open Shackle: Pull up on the shackle to open the lock.

Maintenance

  • Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the shackle and dialing mechanism to ensure smooth operation. Avoid using oil-based lubricants, as they can attract dirt and grime, potentially hindering the mechanism.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the lock body with a clean, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the lock in a dry environment to prevent rust and corrosion, especially if not in regular use.

Troubleshooting

  • Difficulty Opening:
    • Ensure you are dialing the combination correctly, following the steps precisely (three turns right to clear, pass first number once on the second turn left, then stop at the third number right).
    • Verify that you are using the correct pre-set combination.
    • Check for any obstructions in the shackle mechanism or debris on the dial.
    • Apply graphite lubricant if the dial feels stiff or sticky.
  • Shackle Stuck:
    • Ensure the combination is correctly entered and the shackle is fully pulled up.
    • If the shackle appears bent or damaged, the lock may need to be replaced.
