Product Components
The Einhell GP Niro Jet 1300 Garden Pump features a durable design with user-friendly components.

Figure 1: Overview of the Einhell GP Niro Jet 1300 Garden Pump. This image displays the complete pump unit, highlighting its stainless steel body and robust blue motor housing.

Figure 2: Detail of the pump's integrated carrying handle and the clearly visible red ON/OFF switch located on the yellow control box. This switch allows for easy operation.
- Carrying Handle: For easy transport of the pump.
- ON/OFF Switch: Controls the power to the pump.
- Water Inlet (Suction Connection): Where water enters the pump.
- Water Outlet (Pressure Connection): Where water exits the pump.
- Water Filling Screw: Used to prime the pump by filling it with water.
- Drain Plug: For emptying the pump, especially before winter storage.
- Motor Housing: Protects the powerful asynchronous motor.
- Stainless Steel Pump Housing: Corrosion-resistant and durable.
Setup Instructions
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the pump from its packaging. Check for any transport damage.
- Placement: Position the pump on a firm, level, and stable surface. Ensure it is protected from direct weather conditions (rain, frost) and has adequate ventilation. The pump should be as close as possible to the water source, with a maximum suction height of 6 meters.
- Connecting the Suction Hose: Attach a suitable suction hose (minimum 1" diameter) to the water inlet. Ensure all connections are airtight to prevent air from entering the pump, which can impair performance. It is recommended to use a foot valve with a filter at the end of the suction hose in the water source.
- Connecting the Discharge Hose: Connect the discharge hose (minimum 1" diameter) to the water outlet. Secure all connections tightly.
- Priming the Pump: Before initial operation, the pump must be filled with water. Unscrew the water filling screw and slowly pour water into the pump housing until it is completely full. Replace the water filling screw securely. This step is crucial to prevent dry running.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the pump to a properly grounded 230 V ~50 Hz power outlet. Ensure the power cable is not damaged and is routed safely to avoid tripping hazards.
Operating Instructions
- Starting the Pump: After ensuring the pump is primed and all connections are secure, switch the pump ON using the red ON/OFF switch (Figure 2). The pump will begin to draw water.
- Monitoring Operation: Observe the pump during the first few minutes of operation to ensure it is functioning correctly and water is flowing.
- Stopping the Pump: To stop the pump, switch the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
- Important Note: Never allow the pump to run dry. Dry running can cause severe damage to the pump. If the water source runs out, immediately switch off the pump.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Einhell GP Niro Jet 1300 Garden Pump.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the pump with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Check Connections: Regularly inspect all hose connections for leaks and ensure they are tight.
- Filter Maintenance: If a pre-filter is used on the suction line, clean it regularly according to its manufacturer's instructions.
- Winter Storage: Before the first frost, completely drain all water from the pump. Unscrew the drain plug and the water filling screw to ensure all water escapes. Store the pump in a frost-free, dry location.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power supply; ON/OFF switch is OFF; Motor overload protection activated. | Check power connection and fuse; Switch ON the pump; Allow motor to cool down, then restart. |
| Pump runs but does not deliver water. | Pump not primed; Air in suction line; Suction height too high; Foot valve clogged or not submerged. | Prime the pump completely; Check suction line for leaks; Reduce suction height; Clean foot valve and ensure it is submerged. |
| Low delivery pressure. | Partial air in suction line; Discharge hose kinked or too small diameter; Filter clogged. | Check suction line for leaks; Ensure discharge hose is clear and of adequate diameter; Clean any filters. |
| Pump is unusually noisy. | Air in the pump; Dry running; Foreign object in pump. | Prime the pump; Immediately switch off if dry running; Disconnect power and inspect for obstructions (consult service if necessary). |
