6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Clean the scooter regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Do not hose down the scooter or immerse it in water.
6.2. Wheel and Bearing Care
- Regularly check the wheels for wear and tear. Replace them if they show significant damage.
- The ABEC-7 bearings are designed for durability. If wheels become stiff or noisy, they may require cleaning or replacement. Consult a professional if unsure.
- Keep wheels free from dirt, sand, and debris.
6.3. General Inspection
Periodically inspect all parts of the scooter, including the frame, handlebar, brake, and folding mechanism, for any signs of damage, loose parts, or excessive wear. Tighten any loose screws. Do not use the scooter if any part is damaged or broken.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Scooter Does Not Fold/Unfold Smoothly
- Issue: The folding mechanism is stiff or difficult to operate.
- Solution: Ensure the button is fully depressed. Check for any debris obstructing the mechanism. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant if necessary, avoiding contact with wheels or brake.
7.2. Handlebar Slips Down After Adjustment
- Issue: The handlebar does not stay at the selected height.
- Solution: Ensure the spring-loaded pin is fully engaged in one of the adjustment holes. Tighten the quick-release clamp firmly. If the clamp is too loose, adjust the tension screw on the opposite side of the clamp.
7.3. LED Wheels Not Lighting Up
- Issue: The LED lights in the wheels are not illuminating when riding.
- Solution: Ensure the scooter is moving at a sufficient speed for the kinetic energy to activate the lights. Check if any debris is lodged in the wheel bearings, which might prevent smooth rotation.
7.4. Brake Not Effective
- Issue: The foot brake does not effectively slow down or stop the scooter.
- Solution: Inspect the brake pad for wear. If worn, it may need replacement. Ensure no dirt or oil is on the braking surface of the wheel or the brake pad.
