A close-up view of the Timex Analog White Dial Men's Watch, model T45441. The watch features a white dial with black Arabic numerals for hours 10, 12, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9. The center of the dial displays 'TIMEX EXPEDITION' and 'Perpetual Calendar'. A day window shows 'WED' and a date window shows '13 14 15'. The watch has a silver-tone case and a brown leather strap. The crown is visible on the right side of the case.

Setup

Setting the Time and Day/Date

  1. Pull the Crown: Gently pull the crown (located on the right side of the watch case) out to position 2.
  2. Set the Day/Date: Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the day and date. It is recommended to set the day and date for the previous day.
  3. Set the Time: Pull the crown out to position 3. Rotate the crown to advance the hands past 12 AM (midnight) to change the day and date to the current day. Continue rotating to set the correct time, ensuring AM/PM is correctly observed.
  4. Push the Crown In: Once the time, day, and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 to start the watch.

Winding the Automatic Movement

This watch features an automatic movement, which means it is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch stops or runs low on power, it can be manually wound:

  • Manual Winding: With the crown in position 1 (fully pushed in), rotate the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times. This will provide enough power reserve to start the watch and allow the automatic winding mechanism to take over with regular wear.
  • Regular Wear: Wearing the watch daily for at least 8-10 hours will keep it sufficiently wound.

Operating the Watch

Reading the Time

The watch displays time using traditional hour, minute, and second hands on an analog dial.

Day and Date Display

The current day of the week is displayed in the window at the 3 o'clock position, and the date is displayed in the window at the 6 o'clock position.

Indiglo Night-Light

The watch is equipped with an Indiglo night-light feature for illumination in low-light conditions. To activate, press and hold the crown. The dial will illuminate for a few seconds.

Water Resistance

This watch has a water resistance depth of 100 meters (WR100M). This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not suitable for diving. Important: Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

  • Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals. Clean with a slightly damp cloth and allow to air dry.

Storage

When not wearing the watch for extended periods, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields.

Service

For any service or repairs, it is recommended to contact an authorized Timex service center to ensure proper handling and to maintain warranty validity.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: If the watch has stopped, manually wind it using the crown (as described in the Setup section) and wear it regularly. If it still does not run, it may require professional inspection.
  • Time Inaccuracy: Automatic watches can have slight variations in timekeeping. If the inaccuracy is significant, ensure the watch is being worn consistently or manually wound. If the issue persists, professional service may be needed.
  • Day/Date Not Changing: Ensure the time is set correctly, passing 12 AM (midnight) for the day/date change. If the issue persists, the mechanism may require adjustment by a professional.
