Setup

1. Power Source

  • AC Power: Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC IN jack on the unit and then to a wall outlet.
  • Battery Power: For portable use, insert 6 D-size batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-).

2. Antenna

  • For FM reception, extend the telescopic antenna. Adjust its length and angle for optimal reception.
  • For AM reception, the unit has a built-in ferrite bar antenna. Rotate the unit horizontally for best reception.

Operating Instructions

1. General Controls

  • POWER: Press to turn the unit ON or OFF.
  • VOLUME: Rotate the volume knob to adjust the sound level.
  • FUNCTION/BAND Selector: Use this switch to select between CD, RADIO (FM/AM), or TAPE functions. For radio, switch between FM and AM bands.
  • MEGA BASS: Press to activate or deactivate the Mega Bass function for enhanced low-frequency sound.

2. CD Playback

  1. Set the FUNCTION selector to "CD".
  2. Open the CD compartment lid by pressing the PUSH OPEN button.
  3. Place a CD with the label side facing up.
  4. Close the CD compartment lid. The display will show the total number of tracks.
  5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖) button to start playback.
  6. To pause, press PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖). Press again to resume.
  7. To stop, press the STOP (■) button.
  8. Use the SKIP (◀◀/►►) buttons to skip tracks.

3. Radio Operation

  1. Set the FUNCTION selector to "RADIO".
  2. Select the desired band (FM or AM) using the BAND switch.
  3. Rotate the TUNING knob to select a station. The frequency will be shown on the LCD display.
  4. Adjust the antenna for optimal reception.

4. Cassette Playback/Recording

  1. Set the FUNCTION selector to "TAPE".
  2. Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette deck.
  3. Insert a cassette tape with the desired side facing forward.
  4. Close the cassette deck.
  5. Playback: Press the PLAY (►) button to start playback.
  6. Recording: To record from CD or Radio, first select the desired source (CD or RADIO). Then, press the RECORD (●) button simultaneously with the PLAY (►) button on the cassette deck.
  7. Use F.FWD (Fast Forward) and REW (Rewind) buttons to navigate the tape.
  8. Press the STOP/EJECT button to stop playback/recording and eject the tape.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Cabinet: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with a mild detergent solution, then wipe dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning the CD Lens: Use a commercially available CD lens cleaner.
  • Cleaning the Cassette Deck: Regularly clean the tape head, pinch roller, and capstan with a cotton swab lightly moistened with tape head cleaning fluid.
  • Battery Care: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and corrosion.

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
No power.Check if the AC cord is securely connected. If using batteries, ensure they are inserted correctly and not depleted.
CD does not play / "NO DISC" error.Ensure the CD is inserted correctly with the label side up. Clean the CD if it is dirty or scratched. Try another CD.
Poor radio reception.Extend and adjust the FM telescopic antenna. For AM, rotate the unit for better signal. Move the unit away from other electronic devices.
Cassette tape does not play.Ensure the tape is inserted correctly. Check if the tape is tangled or damaged. Clean the tape heads.
Sound is distorted or too low.Adjust the volume. Check if the MEGA BASS function is appropriate for the audio content.
