Setup

1. Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Insert the Kodak Li-Ion rechargeable digital camera battery KLIC-7002, ensuring correct orientation.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  5. Connect the 5V AC adapter to the camera's USB/AV port and then to a power outlet to charge the battery. The camera supports in-camera charging.

2. Memory Card Installation

The camera has internal memory. For extended storage, an SD memory card is recommended.

  1. Locate the memory card slot, typically near the battery compartment.
  2. Insert an SD card into the slot with the contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, press the card gently to release it.

3. Initial Power-On

  1. Press the power button located on the top of the camera.
  2. Follow any on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and language.

Operating the Camera

1. Taking Photos

  • Selecting a Mode: Use the mode dial to choose between automatic, portrait, landscape, sports, and other scene modes.
  • Framing Your Shot: Use the 2.5-inch LCD display to compose your image.
  • Zoom: Use the zoom lever (W/T) to adjust the 3x optical zoom. The camera also features 4x digital zoom.
  • Focus: The camera utilizes multizone autofocus with low light performance. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus.
  • Flash: The built-in flash operates in automatic mode.
  • Capture: Press the shutter button fully to take the picture.

2. Recording Videos

  • Switch to video mode using the mode dial.
  • Press the shutter button to start recording. Press again to stop.
  • The camera records TV-quality (VGA) video with audio at 30 frames per second, using MPEG-4 compression.
  • Digital image stabilization helps reduce camera shake during video recording.

3. Viewing and Managing Content

  • Press the Review button to view captured photos and videos.
  • Use the navigation buttons to scroll through your media.
  • The Delete button allows you to remove unwanted files.
  • The Share button facilitates marking pictures for printing, emailing, or sharing when connected to a computer or compatible dock.

4. Connecting to a Computer

Use the provided USB/AV adapter and cables to connect the camera to your computer. This allows for transferring images and videos. Kodak EasyShare software is included for managing your media.
