- Image Sensor: Sensor cleaning should be performed by authorized service personnel to avoid damage.
Storage
- Store the camera in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and high humidity.
- Remove the battery pack when storing the camera for extended periods.
- Use silica gel packets to absorb moisture if storing in humid environments.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your EOS 30D.
- Camera does not power on: Check if the battery is inserted correctly and fully charged.
- "CF card full" or "CF card error" message: Ensure the CF card has sufficient space and is not damaged. Try reformatting the card (this will erase all data).
- Images are blurry: Check focus mode (AF/MF), ensure proper AF point selection, and verify shutter speed is fast enough to prevent camera shake.
- Flash does not fire: Ensure the flash is raised (if using built-in flash) and charged. Check flash settings and external Speedlite connection.
- LCD screen not displaying: Check brightness settings. If completely blank, a hardware issue may be present.
For more complex issues, refer to the full service manual or contact Canon customer support.
