Installation Instructions

Tools Required: Plumber's putty or silicone sealant, adjustable wrench, screwdriver.

  1. Prepare the Sink Drain Opening: Ensure the sink drain opening is clean and free of debris. Apply a bead of plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the underside of the drain flange (the top part of the pop-up assembly that sits in the sink).
  2. Insert Drain Body: Insert the drain body through the sink drain opening from the top. Ensure the overflow opening on the drain body aligns with the overflow channel in the sink.
  3. Secure from Below: From underneath the sink, slide the rubber washer, then the friction washer, and finally the mounting nut onto the threaded portion of the drain body. Hand-tighten the nut, then use an adjustable wrench to tighten it securely. Do not overtighten.
  4. Connect Lift Rod: Insert the lift rod through the faucet body (if applicable) and connect it to the horizontal rod of the pop-up assembly. The horizontal rod extends from the side of the drain body.
  5. Adjust Stopper: Insert the removable stopper into the drain body. Adjust the connection between the lift rod and the horizontal rod to ensure the stopper opens and closes properly. The knob on the lift rod should allow the stopper to fully seal the drain when pushed down and fully open when pulled up.
  6. Test for Leaks: Fill the sink with water and check for any leaks around the drain assembly. Tighten connections as necessary.

Important: Always follow local plumbing codes during installation.

Operation

The Jones Stephens P35-001 Pop-up Assembly is designed for simple operation. To close the drain and retain water in the sink, push down on the lift rod knob, which will lower the stopper into the drain opening. To open the drain and allow water to flow out, pull up on the lift rod knob, raising the stopper.
