1. Product Overview

2. Setup

Battery Installation

The CASIO HS-6-2JH Stopwatch operates on one CR2025 button battery. The battery is typically pre-installed. If the display is dim or blank, battery replacement may be necessary.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the stopwatch.
  2. Using a small Phillips-head screwdriver, carefully remove the screws securing the battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove the cover and gently extract the old CR2025 battery.
  4. Insert a new CR2025 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screws. Ensure the cover is properly sealed.

After battery installation, the stopwatch display should activate. If not, ensure the battery is correctly inserted and fully charged.

3. Operating Instructions

The stopwatch features three primary buttons: START/STOP, SPLIT/LAP, and MODE. Refer to the image below for button locations.

Basic Stopwatch Functions (Normal Measurement)

  1. Press the MODE button until the stopwatch display shows "0:00'00"00".
  2. Press START/STOP to begin timing.
  3. Press START/STOP again to pause the timing.
  4. To resume, press START/STOP.
  5. To reset the stopwatch to zero, press SPLIT/LAP while the stopwatch is stopped.

Lap and Split Measurement

This function allows you to record intermediate times (lap) and cumulative times (split) during an event.

  1. Start the stopwatch by pressing START/STOP.
  2. To record a split time (cumulative time from start), press SPLIT/LAP. The display will momentarily show the split time while the internal timer continues.
  3. To record a lap time (time for the current segment), press SPLIT/LAP again after a split time is displayed. The display will show the lap time.
  4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for subsequent splits and laps.
  5. Press START/STOP to end the timing.
  6. Press SPLIT/LAP to reset the stopwatch.

1st and 2nd Place Time Measurement

This mode is useful for recording the finish times of two competitors in a single event.

  1. Start the stopwatch by pressing START/STOP.
  2. When the first competitor finishes, press SPLIT/LAP. The display will show the 1st place time.
  3. When the second competitor finishes, press START/STOP to stop the timer.
  4. Press SPLIT/LAP to view the 2nd place time.
  5. Press SPLIT/LAP again to reset the stopwatch.

Silencing Feature

The CASIO HS-6-2JH is designed for silent operation, meaning button presses do not produce audible feedback. This feature is always active and does not require specific activation or deactivation steps.

4. Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the stopwatch with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry immediately.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the casing and display.

Battery Replacement

Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for detailed instructions on replacing the CR2025 battery. Replace the battery when the display becomes dim or unresponsive.

Storage

Store the stopwatch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. Avoid exposing it to strong magnetic fields.

5. Troubleshooting
