5. Setup

5.1. Power Connection

  1. Insert the small end of the AC power adapter into the DC IN jack located on the back of the unit.
  2. Plug the other end of the AC power adapter into a standard wall outlet (AC 120V, 60Hz).
  3. The unit will power on, and the display will flash, indicating it is ready for time setting.

5.2. Battery Backup Installation

A 9-volt battery (not included) can be installed to provide backup power for the clock and alarm settings during a power interruption.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Remove the cover by sliding it off.
  3. Connect a 9-volt battery to the battery connector inside the compartment, observing polarity (+ and -).
  4. Place the battery into the compartment and replace the cover securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Setting the Time

  1. Press and hold the TIME SET button until the hour digits begin to flash.
  2. Press the HOUR button repeatedly to adjust the hour. Observe the PM indicator for correct AM/PM setting.
  3. Press the MINUTE button repeatedly to adjust the minute.
  4. Press the TIME SET button again to confirm and exit time setting mode.

6.2. Setting the Alarm

The CR-A78 features two independent alarms, Alarm 1 and Alarm 2.

  1. Press and hold the ALARM 1 SET (or ALARM 2 SET) button until the alarm hour digits flash.
  2. Press the HOUR button to set the desired alarm hour.
  3. Press the MINUTE button to set the desired alarm minute.
  4. Press the ALARM 1 SET (or ALARM 2 SET) button again to confirm the alarm time.
  5. To activate the alarm, slide the ALARM 1 ON/OFF (or ALARM 2 ON/OFF) switch to the 'ON' position. Select 'BUZZER' for a beeping alarm or 'RADIO' to wake to the radio.

6.3. Using the Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 9 minutes. To turn off the alarm completely, press the ALARM ON/OFF switch to 'OFF'.

6.4. Radio Operation (AM/FM)

  1. Press the RADIO ON/OFF button to turn the radio on.
  2. Slide the AM/FM switch to select the desired band.
  3. Rotate the TUNING knob to find your desired station.
  4. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob.
  5. To turn off the radio, press the RADIO ON/OFF button again.

6.5. Using the Time Projector

  1. Locate the projector lens on top of the unit.
  2. Press the PROJECTOR ON/OFF button to activate the time projection.
  3. Rotate the projector lens to adjust the focus of the projected time.
  4. Adjust the angle of the projector arm to direct the time onto your desired surface (wall or ceiling).
  5. Press the PROJECTOR ON/OFF button again to turn off the projection.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Lens Care: Gently wipe the projector lens with a soft, lint-free cloth if it becomes dusty.
  • Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the 9-volt backup battery annually or if the unit experiences frequent power outages to ensure continuous backup functionality.

8. Troubleshooting
