Setup

- Set the MODE switch to "CABLE TESTER".
- Connect one end of the cable to an "INPUT" port and the other end to an "OUTPUT" port.

- The device checks for crossed wires, shorted connections, open circuits, and intermittent contacts.
- For cables with multiple pins (e.g., XLR), the display will show the connection status for each pin (Pin 1, Pin 2, Pin 3, Tip, Ring, Sleeve).
- If an issue is detected, the corresponding "CROSSED", "SHORTED", "OPEN", or "INTERMITTENT" LED will illuminate.

2. Test Tone Mode
- Set the MODE switch to "TEST TONE/PHANTOM".
- Select the desired tone level using the "TONE LEVEL" switch (+4 dBu, -10 dBV, or -50 dBV/MIC).
- Connect the cable to the appropriate output port (e.g., XLR OUT, 1/4" OUT).
- The CT200 will generate a test tone, which can be used to trace signals through a sound system or confirm signal flow.
3. Phantom Power and Ground-Shield Check
- In "TEST TONE/PHANTOM" mode, the device can also check for phantom power presence and ground-shield integrity.
- Connect an XLR cable to the XLR input. The "PHANTOM" LED will light up if phantom power is detected.
- The "GND/SHIELD PASS" LED indicates proper grounding.
