1. Important Safety Instructions

Always observe basic safety precautions when using electric tools to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Read all instructions carefully before operating this tool.

  • Work Area Safety: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use safety equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection when appropriate. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Battery Pack Safety: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Do not incinerate the battery pack even if it is severely damaged.

  1. Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
  2. Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck. Ensure the bit is fully seated.
  3. Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the bit. For best results, use the spindle lock feature to hold the chuck steady while tightening.
  4. To remove, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise and pull the bit out.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off and Speed Control

The tool is activated by pressing the trigger switch. The speed of the tool is variable and controlled by the amount of pressure applied to the trigger switch. Releasing the trigger switch turns the tool off.

4.2 Forward/Reverse Operation

The forward/reverse switch located above the trigger controls the direction of rotation. Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (drilling/driving) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws). Ensure the switch is in the center position to lock the trigger and prevent accidental starting.

4.3 Speed Selection

The SX4000 features a 2-stage speed selection switch. Use lower speeds for high-torque applications like driving large screws or drilling into dense materials. Use higher speeds for faster drilling in softer materials.

4.4 Torque Collar Adjustment

The torque collar allows you to set the amount of torque applied before the clutch disengages. This prevents over-driving screws and damaging the workpiece. Rotate the collar to select the desired torque setting. Higher numbers indicate higher torque.

4.5 Using the LED Work Light

The integrated LED work light automatically illuminates when the trigger switch is pressed, providing improved visibility in dimly lit work areas.

4.6 Monitoring Battery Charge

The battery gauge provides a quick visual indication of the remaining battery charge. Recharge the battery when the gauge indicates a low charge level to ensure continuous operation.

Regularly clean the ventilation slots of the tool to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or dry cloth. Do not use water or chemical cleaners. Keep the chuck jaws free of debris.

5.2 Storage

Store the tool and battery pack in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure the battery is partially charged before long-term storage. Keep out of reach of children.

5.3 Battery Care

To maximize battery life, avoid completely discharging the battery. Recharge the battery when its power noticeably decreases. Do not store the battery in a discharged state for extended periods.

6. Troubleshooting
