Setup and Installation
The Zenna Home MP109 cabinet is designed for either surface mount or recess mount installation and can be configured for left or right-hand door opening.
Tools Required (Not Included):
- Pencil
- Measuring Tape
- Level
- Drill with appropriate drill bits
- Screwdriver (Phillips head)
- Stud finder (recommended for surface mount)
- Utility knife (for recess mount)
Choosing Installation Type:
Determine whether you will surface mount the cabinet directly onto the wall or recess mount it into a wall opening. The cabinet dimensions are 16 inches (W) x 20 inches (H) x 4 inches (D).
A. Surface Mount Installation
- Select Location: Choose a wall location free from electrical wires or plumbing. Use a stud finder to locate wall studs for secure mounting, if possible.
- Mark Mounting Holes: Hold the cabinet against the wall at the desired height and use a level to ensure it is straight. Mark the locations for the mounting screws through the pre-drilled holes on the cabinet's back panel. Alternatively, use the provided installation template.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If drilling into drywall without a stud, insert wall anchors (provided) into the pilot holes.
- Secure Cabinet: Align the cabinet with the pilot holes/anchors and secure it to the wall using the provided screws. Do not overtighten.

B. Recess Mount Installation
- Determine Opening Size: The cabinet requires a rough opening of approximately 14.5 inches (W) x 18.5 inches (H) x 3.5 inches (D) for a snug fit. Verify wall stud locations to ensure the opening does not interfere with structural elements.
- Mark and Cut Opening: Use a level and measuring tape to mark the precise opening on the wall. Carefully cut the opening using a utility knife or drywall saw.
- Prepare Opening: Ensure the edges of the opening are clean and smooth.
- Insert Cabinet: Carefully slide the cabinet body into the wall opening.
- Secure Cabinet: Use the pre-drilled holes on the sides or interior of the cabinet to secure it to the wall studs or blocking within the opening using screws.

C. Door Handing Adjustment (Left or Right Opening)
The cabinet is designed for flexible door opening. Before securing the cabinet, ensure the door hinges are positioned on the desired side (left or right) for opening. If adjustment is needed, carefully remove the hinge pins, reposition the door, and reinsert the pins.

Figure 4: Diagram showing door hinge adjustment. This image illustrates how to change the door's opening direction from left to right or vice versa.
D. Shelf Installation
The cabinet includes two fixed shelves. These shelves are typically molded into the plastic body or secured permanently during manufacturing. No additional installation steps are required for the shelves.
Operating Instructions
The Zenna Home MP109 Frameless Medicine Cabinet operates by simply opening and closing the mirrored door. The door is designed for smooth operation. Place items on the fixed shelves, ensuring not to exceed the weight capacity of the shelves or the cabinet's overall stability.
- To open: Gently pull the door from the side opposite the hinges.
- To close: Push the door until it is flush with the cabinet body.
- Organize contents: Utilize the two fixed shelves to store bathroom essentials.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your medicine cabinet.
- Cleaning: Wipe the cabinet body and mirror with a dry, soft cloth. For stubborn marks on the mirror, use a non-abrasive glass cleaner applied to the cloth, not directly to the mirror. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the plastic finish or mirror coating.
- Inspection: Periodically check mounting screws for tightness. If the cabinet feels loose, retighten the screws.
- Rust Resistance: The cabinet features a rust-free plastic body, minimizing the need for rust-specific maintenance.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Zenna Home MP109 medicine cabinet, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Door does not close properly or is misaligned. | Loose hinges or uneven installation. | Check hinge screws and tighten if loose. Verify the cabinet is level and securely mounted. |
| Cabinet feels wobbly or unstable. | Loose mounting screws or inadequate wall support. | Retighten all mounting screws. For surface mount, ensure screws are in studs or appropriate anchors are used. For recess mount, ensure it's secured to studs or blocking. |
| Mirror appears cloudy or streaky after cleaning. | Improper cleaning solution or cloth. | Use a clean, dry, soft cloth. For marks, use a small amount of non-abrasive glass cleaner applied to the cloth, then wipe dry. |
